New fuel Tank 66 gallons (stainless steel)

Hi guys. I’m just finish to change my standard fuel tank to a new one 66 gallons. Now who knows how to change that new quantity of fuel and the computer can tell me how many millages I can do with this new one??

Do I have to go to the dealership??

 

You cannot correct the distance to empty, the 46 gallon transferflow tank has been out for 8 plus year and there is no solution yet.

Also where did you get a 66 gallon tank? And do you have photos?

 

I don't think it's as simple as that. But, if you fill it up and disconnect the battery, the computer might sense that the fuel gauge is not adjusting consistent with the mileage and might self correct. The same way 18mpg and drops down 13mpg after a few fills.

My low fuel light comes on when I reach 550ish miles( GPS indicated).

There's somewhere between 10-12 gallons left when I fill up.

My effective range should be +/- 700 miles. Haven't pushed it yet.

Transferflo 46g tank installed.

6" lift on 37's w/ stock 4.30 gears.

Also running with the nannies off exclusively.

Here in Venezuela we have a company that makes all kind of fuel tanks in stainless steel. Our trucks can manage the extra weight and we need the extra gas

 

That’s impressive work, wow! Did you build the tank yourself?
Have you made any changes to your suspension to compensate for the additional static load?
Our tundras frequently have a tendency to tip towards the driver side (commonly called the “tundra lean”), even when stock. My rough calculations guess you have added about 300lb to the truck. Used gas at 6lb/g and guessed the new tank weight around 150.
I have a 2015 also and added custom Alcan springs to compensate for the weight added to my rig which includes the 46g transferflow.

 

All my suspension its different of the stock one, front and rear complete Old Man Emu, also i have the air bag firestone Ride - Rite complete kit with the ARB twin air compressor that guarantee that the truck will be avoiding the Tundra Lean.

Yes it was, until last sunday when the price per gallon will be 2,27$ per gallon (more or less) 0,5$ per liter

 

That tank is massive - almost touching the drive shaft.

 

This defines "Go large or go home"!

I may be old fashion but that is a lot of weight to be carrying.

 

I'm with the same way of thinking but the problem is that in my country we have a lot off issues with the gas. So I will carrier the full tank only when I need to make a big trip

 

Would hate to see the skid plate for that animal. Or maybe it's built in.
