Replaced the bulge and surround

I ordered the MGM bulge and limited grill so I can replace my chrome stuff on the 2020 SR5. It was super easy and I didn't break any tabs. I like the look. Now I have an entire chrome Limited grill and bulge to sell. I'll post it on the classifieds whenever I get enough posts to do that. How much do they go for? The surround and bulge have 3000 miles and the grill is new.

Thanks. I like it much more than the chrome. Looks like it was the Platinum grill, not the Limited. I swapped the surround since it was the cheapest way to go. I ordered from @Roman at Toyota of Cool Springs.

I swapped mine out for color match and honeycomb too, it's so much beefier looking! Also need to list my old chrome one. Curious to see what they're going for!

Looks good. If you're trying to sell it or get rid of it right away, then do it for $100...if you like having old stuff in your garage you will never use and love just looking at old crap, sell it for $300...ha! Just my $.02...better yet, give it away on CL and it'll be gone fast! You didn't upgrade to make sure you made money on the least desirable colored items, did you?!

 

I kinda have an issue with this bulge, though. It is significantly lighter in color than the surround and the metallic fleck is super fine in comparison to the surround which matches the truck nicely. It looks so different that a buddy asked me if I deliberately put on a different color bulge. I may need to exchange this one to see if I can get a better match.

Did you have any issue with the TSS sensor in the emblem with changing it from a limited grille to the platinum. I'm wanting to get rid of my grille but not sure what to do or how to deal with the sensor relocation.

 

Nope. I only replaced the surround so no sensor change at all. I unplugged the grill with sensor and swapped everything over. Then, just plugged it back in during install

 

Here is the photo of the hood bulge color difference. I don't think it will be difficult to exchange. I emailed and got a reply right away to send a photo. You can see they are vastly different. The lighter color on top is the bulge and the darker color on the bottom is the surround which matches the truck. I seriously think the bulge is a different color all together.

 

Good luck getting anything for chrome take-offs. Maybe they’ll come into fashion again someday... but for now, so many buy replacements, they’re sometimes hard to get rid of free.

But that’s a limited, which seem to have more mod options than standard, so you might do OK. But I still think if you want it to go quick, you better price it really low.

 

They are just plastic so that's the first thing to go in a front end scrape. I figured they would be plentiful and cheap. Scanning the classified it seems there aren't many at all. I don't really need to sell anything. I'm an old guy with a good job so it's just an exercise of parts swapping I'm familiar with over many years of playing with old cars. That's why I was asking what they go for. Not much on the classified section to go off of and prices are all over the map. I'll wait a bit and post it cheap enough to be a bargain. Thanks for the input guys.

 

That looks good! I hope they get a closer match to your MGM. I have long thought about doing this.

Mind me asking what the parts cost?
