To Timing Chain or To Not...

    Hey ya’ll. I’m pretty certain on the answer but want to hear it from the experts. Friend of mine has an 2011 SR5 crew with a 5.7 liter. Someone told him he should soon replace his t/chain because of time and the year of the truck. Regular maintenance. No noise. No issues.

    I said “No Way”. Just looking for a double check...

    If you have to change the chains on these motors, then you know the oil & filter was not changed per manufacturers recommendation and that there is more wrong with the engine than the chains

    Someone doesn't understand the difference between a timing belt and a timing chain. Happens a lot.

    No worries, drive the hell out of it.
