Hey guys, I recently got a small 12' aluminum mid V bottom jon boat to take out fishing. There's a small trailer with it too. Trailer is roughly 18' long. Even with the boat (~100lbs) and gear in the boat (trolling motor, battery, tackle etc) it still wants to bounce around like crazy.

When i bought it, the seller told me it was a 1 7/8 ball. bounced on the hitch horrible. I switched to the 2" and it was a lot better. But on bumps, cracks, raccoon hairs, the trailer still bounces all around. Anyway to fix that? PSI on trailer tires is about 30 so i was going to knock that down to 20 first but open to any other ideas!

    Thanks.

Going to guess it needs more tongue weight. See if you can move the bow stop forward and get more weight in front of the axle. If not, put gear and fuel in front during transport.

but it's like the whole trailer is bouncing. Big enough bump and the trailer tires will come off the ground

Well, reducing tire pressure may help. A taller tire with lower pressure may help too.

Thanks. Next time i'm out, i'm going to start playing around with lowering the air pressure and see what works best. I have a small 12volt air compressor i can use to fill up if i drop it too low.
