    Hey guys,

When I got new wheels and tires the tire shop didn't have black lugs for the Tundra. Does anyone know if these will work?

Sorry, this is not my specialty!

    Thanks for any input

These work for us? I've been curious with replacing my stock lugs.

Can’t speak if those particular lugs will work, but they most likely will rust after you tighten them... most aftermarket black lug nuts are junk.

Like many others I put on Color Lugs vinyl caps which work great!

^^^ These just type in (Colorlugs). They are vinyl/rubber caps and they have many colors. I see a few say that black lugs rust but the Pros have them and I haven’t seen a Pro owner talking about rusting lugs. I purchased some and when I rotate my tires I just touch them up with black gloss paint and in five minutes they are done and look better than new every time but I don’t have the long ones. Everyone likes something different. I used the slip on covers and got tired of them. One person on here said he could slip his off in 15 seconds not once was I able to get mine off in 15 seconds especially if you use hairspray to stick them on following the instructions. I have just slid mine on and never had one come off. To each their own. Each one works just fine. There have been more than one discussion about this you can type this in the search bar up there.

A lot of us (including myself) bought cheap-o aftermarket black lug nuts on EBay, Amazon, etc. and like a lot of things we got what we paid for (I got mine on EBay and had the seller refund my money).

OEM lug nuts are pricey - but for a reason!

Color lugs are actually more expensive to buy in Canada than aftermarket black lugs. They're like $95+ on Amazon. And then directly from the their website you have to worry about exchange rate...and likely shipping to Canada.

I'd love to go that route but really? $24 American does not equal $97 Canadian.

^^ Toyota has OEM black lugs. They are on their new PRO models. Many months ago I spent over forty minutes with a parts guy at a Toyota dealer and he finally found them. They are like 10.00 dollars a piece. That is when I decided to go a different direction. I have given up on local dealers in the Houston area because they just do not know how to look up any parts and do not care to know cross over parts. I even called the Houston (North Houston Woodlands main Toyota office) The person I spoke to told me that is just the parts guys not knowing how to operate their system. I asked him how can that be some of those guys have been doing this for ten years!! He didn’t have an excuse. Even when I give them parts numbers they refuse to match prices with anyone else even from California or Florida!! I still do not understand why a person in Texas has to order parts from Tennessee or the East Coast and get them shipped cheaper than what you can get them for twenty minutes away?? But yes Toyota does have black lugs they also have black OEM rims but the dealer told me no on that one too!! Had them shipped from Cool Springs too!! But I took the parts number to local dealer and they wanted 1700 a wheel???? WTH is that about??? The whole thing is crazy!!! Their go to saying is “oh we can’t get them parts here” aaaa no it’s you are to dam lazy to do your job!! and figure out how to operate your computer. Cool Springs and Sparks are amazing and they can find your parts in minutes instead of local dealers spending an hour and then tell you nope can’t find it??? I have even had local dealers (more than one) tell me they can not get the black emblems on the side of their own Tundra models they sell with black emblems!! Call Cool Springs and sure enough they have them part numbers for each side and each emblem!!! That info from above is from 2017 about black lugs from Toyota. Just an FYI.

I got my wheels and lug nuts from Partsengine as well (in canada) and I got the lug nuts you posted in the OP. They are on my truck now. Sofar so good, they've only been on since I threw my summer wheels on this year. We'll see how they look in october I guess.

if it means anything to you, I was concerned I'd get some of the black paint worn off the second I put any force on the lug nut tool and they would rust right away too. THe tool they provide fits really well and putting them on left zero damage on the lug nuts, I think they paint is decent (better than I expected anyways) and I think I paid 20 or 30 bucks for the set

I stand corrected, thanks for the info. My local Toyota dealer here is awful. Thats why I buy from places that have good customer service and bought my truck 200 miles away. My local dealer won’t give you the time of day when it comes to price matching or negotiating. In today’s age where everything is available online - that’s just plain idiotic.

My OEM lugs are rusting real bad im guessing one too many ugga-duggas we're used at dealerships and tire shops over the years. I'll look into the vinyl caps they seem like a good idea

For some reason Sparks lists them, but says not for sale.

One those are the per piece price. A number of months ago they were ten something?? And I don’t know if those are the long ones or the regular ones. There were a bunch listed.

^^^^ and then when you click on them it looks like another Toyota dealer has 20 for 32 something. They are the regular ones not the long ones.

My black Gorilla lugs rusted after one winter. I’ve been scrubbing them with WD40 to remove some of it.

This is the ET size if that’s what you require:

Talked to Brian who I am assuming owns colorlugs. That guy is a gem. Spoke to him about the moisture/rust concerns and he said he's never had an issue and he lives in Minnesota. Also cut me a deal on them. Can't wait for them to arrive. He also responded within minutes both late in the pm and fairly early in the am. Highly recommended.
