2017 Tundra TSS with a leveling kit. Should I be concerned?

This would be my first truck, I really want a tundra TSS. I found a 2017 4x4 and it has a 2-3” above coil front leveling kit. It drives fine, alignment seems fine. Do I need to be concerned about anything? It looks better with the lift but I want to make sure to consider all things before buying. Is there any benefit to wait and find a factory lifted truck? This truck also has a huge bolted on brush guard which is maybe why the previous owner added the leveling kit?

I know I am probably worrying too much, but just want to ask.

    Thank you

no such thing as a factory lift other then Pros. Tell the dealer to knock off $1k so you can put some coilovers on it. If you are only doing mild off roading it is probably fine as is.

    Welcome from NY.
Yep, no factory lift/level unless you get a 2020 TRD PRO which is leveled.

It’s probably a spacer lift. I would toss it when u can and get a truly adjustable coil lift. It’ll drive even smoother

Not a big deal if you don't off road much. It will ride better with some good coilovers

My local dealership sells new Tundras and Tacomas with spacer lifts that they had done by an independent shop.
That may confuse some buyers thinking of it as a 'factory' lift...

I have 6112s, but honestly looking back at the driving I do, I probably would have been fine with a spacer lift.
I just would still have those floaty black shocks I didn't like..:eek2:

I have 2018 limited, 3/2 leveling kit, dont do any serious offroading, but I have never had an issue in mountains, or on the beach and still smooth factory ride.

How can I inspect the back wheels and make sure there isn’t a lift or spacer there? If only the front is lifted, how much am I limited on towing and payload? Would I just play it by ear and not go to the max obviously?

Look where the axle U bolts are and the leaf springs bolt together. If the axle doesn’t fit directly on the leaf spring and you see a block between the two, it has a block lift in the rear.

My truck is leveled with 6112s on the front. I haul 1500 lbs of corn several times a year and tow a 5000 boat with no problems.

below is a picture of the front coil spacer. Any thoughts? Not sure if it’s 2 or 3”. Any general thoughts are appreciated, still debating if I want that setup. Truck only has 30k miles but it sounds like most people prefer the adjustable coils over spacers.

I guess why I’m asking for all of the hand holding is because this would be my first truck and I’m trying to avoid regrets. But it’s a good deal with low mileage. I can always change the front suspension how I see fit, so there probably isn’t a need to worry. It’s a solid truck and car fax. Maybe I’ll stop worrying about the front spacer and pull the trigger. How bad could it be???

    Thank you

That is a spacer lift. Not too many issues if you don’t off-road but a good coilover setup will ride much smoother both on and off-road. You can always swap it out later.

Don’t let the spacer lift concern you. If it’s truck you want and the deal you want just go for it!!! Plenty of trucks out there are running spacers. Also, welcome from SoCal.
