Guess they didn’t include cam tower leaks in dependability study, not that oil leaks affect dependability, but you know what I’m sayin.

most of them are a wheep that really isn't a big deal... sure it gets dirty BUT add more oil.. don't worry about it.

 

beats the hell out of rear ends going out on a regular basis. our shop trucks have that issue and i've found two friends that have the same symptoms with their f-150s. now, i do admit our salesmans 2020 f150s are incredibly comfortable for me to drive (seats and the adjustable pedals), but i'm comparing them to my 2012. i've no clue if the 2020 tundras compare. all i do know is my tundra has been one of my best purchases

 

Yeah and it looks like the 2016 is the perfect used truck

 

Nothing is perfect so it has to have something wrong with it. After all it is a man made product.

 

And how many trucks actually have the cam tower leak?

Having personally come from a 2016 F150, I can say it doesn’t even deserve the 8/10 rating.

 

That was my thought, I'm at 230k and not a hint of oil outside of the engine anywhere. Knock on wood!

 

yeah that cam leaky is blown way out of proportion! Can't even measure the amount over 5000 miles...mine are still clean at 75k...

 

I havent had the best luck with mine so far but it sounds like i'm in the minority. Im still more likely to stick with tundra vs another brand if buying another truck. The track record is too good even if I had some bad luck.

 

if only they could boost the mpg by +2
