    If the spacer is still intact, which looks like it is, than this would have also happened with an offset rim. It puts the same pressure on the factory bolts as the spacer. The failure point was not he spacer but the factory bolts. Also looks like it was loose a while judging by the worn down area inside the spacer.

    There warning signs all over this. That black around all the holes is indicative of some type of messed up mating. The spacer should sit flush all the way around and not have spot around the lugs. The more I look at this the more things look neglected and incorrectly installed.the fact that soot was getting between th hub and spacer most likely means they had been running them loose.

    My point is these things cause stress to factory components that they were not designed for. Do you really want to gamble with that kind of failure at 70MPH? Installation may void warranty if it can be proven that the spacer caused a given failure. Believe me a dealer will look really hard at that if it can save them $$$$
    That spacer was correctly installed on a Mall-Crawler.

    Correct, the exact same stress an aftermarket rim would cause. No more no less. We are all about aftermarket parts here so no real argument there. As far as the correct installation I would beg to differ...
