We also ran White Mtn. yesterday. Could not run 3N93 due to a broke and/or stuck 3rd gen Tacoma right at the entrance. This caused a huge backup of jeeps waiting to enter. So we passed on that and headed up 3N17. Only encountered a couple bikes coming down and a couple jeeps near the summit. Beautiful day on the trail. When we reached the eastern end of 3N17 @ 3N16 we got smoked out by a prescribed burn taking place nearby.

lets see the final product. Probably not something I will need but I applaud them for having engineering and fab here in the good ol US of A. After the virus fiasco I hope American companies will reconsider all that outsourcing/manufacturing abroad.

Moving this over here so I don’t clutter up Monet’s thread. Over here everyone can weigh in, if anyone’s got an opinion.
What issues did you have? What wheels and size, and what tires were you running on that 1st gen?

I run 16” SCS Ray 10’s with STT Pros on mine. They seem all good....

Wheel weight issues? As in so much rubber the wheel becomes too heavy?

Hmmm. Trophy trucks run 40s on 17s. Sounds like suspension upgrade required. :notsure:

Since @tundra_20 hasn't chimed in - He was saying some 17” wheels have had caliper clearance issues with the wheels weights. Shops couldn’t install the weights towards the center due to the caliper hitting off the weights.
^ I think that’s what he was saying.

Yes that’s what I’m referring to on the 3rd gens. I’ve had also had issues in the past with constantly throwing wheel weights and I just don’t want that issue again, buuut I also want to run 17’s with 35’s :D

This isn’t even a problem. The SGU guys and Bastrds ran 35’s, now 37’s, on 17’s. It’s true I occasionally find random wheel weights on the trail... but that’s like the :muscleflexing: version of breadcrumbs....

Have them stick the weights as deep as possible. Up against the inside of the face of the wheels. I had to go back 4 times to redo mine.

This seems to be the general consensus so I’ll make sure they are aware of the close tolerance around the caliper when I get my wheels and tires.

I've seen @Vizsla draw a frigging diagram ON the wheel where to put the weights and the shop still got it wrong....LOL

The problem with just telling them is they’re stupid and still fuck it up somehow. Also, they’ll stick on the weights to barely clear the rear calipers but then when you go to rotate your tires, they’ll hit on the front calipers.

Of course not, but better wheels and tires will get him out on more fun trails sooner! He’s already on billies with 2.5” lift :muscleflexing:

I’ll probably go 35s again. 37s on the next set with genders and maybe some more suspension shytttt.

do they do 37 for 18s? How wide are they? I love my BFG ATs

My good detail place in SoCal is back open. Means I can finally lose an arm but get my truck clean. Interior needs it more than anything. But also got a bunch of spider webs from parking it on the SF street under a tree

Rack cameeeee. With hi lift mounts. Prob won’t get to it today. Seems like a tomorrow thing. But bed is clear now. Hit a ride this morning then stripped the racks and trays off the bed, and power washed it. Had so much debris in it.
    Happy Saturday!
