I just bought a preowned Vista cap for my ‘07 DC (ProTop Bought out Vista a few years ago). It’s pretty basic but nice looking. Anyhow I’m challenged with the gaps at the rear opening. It’s about 1/4” out on both sides. I’ve loosened the bolts on each side and proceeded to reposition the cap. As I start to tighten the bolts the cap slips back to its previous spot. And I can’t tighten the j-bolts enough to prevent it. Because of its design, I can’t just lamp down on the bolts or it will ruin the fiberglass rails.

    See pics below.

Short of drilling precision holes through the cap and the truck bedrails and then adding bolts with nuts, I can’t figure it out how to keep the cap in place as I tighten the fasteners down.

not seems like there must be a procedure to set the cap on the proper position and then reasonable tighten the fasteners.

Interesting. I like the design better but I don’t know if that will help pull them in. But at that price, it’s worth a try.

I agree. Looks like it needs to be pulled in toward the rear.

Had this issue years ago on another truck. Used a ratchet strap on the window latches to pull it in where I wanted it and then clamped it. Stayed put for 5 years before I sold it.

Or these, because they have some reach.
