For anyone that has been looking for a Tundra recently wondering what you are seeing for pricing? I remember reading a post that said you should try for 11.2% off of MSRP, plus any incentives. Back in the late fall I was looking and found a few dealers willing to give 11% plus incentives. Found one that was giving 12% on one specific truck. For reference I live in RI. I emailed or talked to every dealer within driving distance at the time that had a truck I was interested in. I ended up holding off back in the fall. Started looking again just before the virus started and found only one dealer willing to do 11% on one truck. The truck ended up selling so I could never confirm the pricing. As we know some dealers say one thing but then things change. So fast forward to today. I find a dealer willing to do 12% off plus Toyota cash of $2750. They will let me use my own financing, through AAA I can get a better deal than they can offer. The truck is SR5 DC.

I would run for that price...12% off MSRP and the additional 2750 rebate off...

12% off MSRP plus an additional $2750? What the hell are you doing posting here? Go buy the truck already! LOL

I bought mine back in March. Assuming it counts TTL and all that, I paid $43K for mine ($41700 + $1800 tax), which equals out to about a 10.2% discount. If tax isn't counted, it's 13% or so. Either way, that plus a lifetime engine warranty and $ for parts was a good deal, I thought. Your deal beats hell out of that.

I just heard back from the dealer that had the truck at 12% off last year. They had a truck I was interested in. He was at 6% off plus incentive for a similar truck even after sharing the price on the other truck. I know end of year is typically the best time to buy, but was surprised he was not competitive. He told me that Toyota is not currently shipping him any inventory. Being unsure where the market is going they are going to ride out the storm for now.

The 12% was just of the MSRP not including tax, title, etc. So if I include the tax, title, etc into the MSRP then figure out the discount, its like 11.1% and then the $2750.

The dealer that's close to me is advertising $46703 on an MSRP of 52,457. It's a limited TRD-OffRoad and they have 2 of the exact same truck. That's 11% including the $2500 incentive for our region. I am hoping to get in the 44,000-44,500 range which would be 11% before the incentive. I'm not sure I'll get there with some of the stories going around.

I have been trying to get myself back into a Tundra recently and the offers I have been getting are not all that great either. Its almost like they would rather just sit on their current inventory than try to sell it.

I was inquiring about a few trucks today and they both sold in the middle of my pricing emails. Not sure how much weight to put into this, but the sales rep said inventory is getting thin and buyers are starting to line up since inventory won't be replenished for a while.

I have also seen some of that. Some of the trucks I inquired about were already sold or sold within days.

I wouldn't be worrying about less than 1%. If you want a big chunk off MSRP and better gas mileage, check out the domestic offerings.

Went to the dealer today and got the deal done. Numbers were spot on, no surprises. Pick it up in a week or so. Cement%20tundra6.jpg

12% wow. Here in canada they r so tight. You can barely squeeze out 6% and they look at you if your insane when you ask.

Inventory is also really low. 638+ ford f150s within my area, but only 34 Tundras. They Toyota dealerships here have us by the balls.

I read an article about a month that talked about Toyota shutting down production of the Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner temporally. The article cited Toyota’s concern about the Wuhan coronavirus spread in its factory. However after further reading it also said Toyota didn’t want an over abundance of vehicle’s in stock especially if the shut down lasted long.

Smart business move in my opinion...sucks for the consumer and the dealerships. It keeps stock low to account for low demand which creates more demand.

thomasbus337 I bought it from Haddad Toyota. Which if it was any farther down the Mass Pike would be in NY.
