I was a bit surprised to discover there are no tie-downs in the rear of the bed which are welded to the frame. There are two in the front of the bed, just behind the cab...but, these will be useless to me once my cap is installed. I frequently need to secure a generator that sits on the tailgate. I'm reasonably creative and resourceful, so I know I'll come up with something. Even the tailgate latch hooks look strong enough to use as tie-down points.

But, can anyone tell me what these are? They're located just inside the tailgate and are securely bolted to the truck frame. They appear to be receivers for some kind of brace or who knows what...20200510_161823_resized.jpg

What he said for sure, Bed extender brackets. Here's a pic of my AMP bed extender brackets. Looks pretty similar. Amp no drill bkt 2.jpg Amp Bed Ext.jpg

What they said. And clearly someone left the rear tie-down loops off when they installed the bed extender mounts.
