    Hi all,

I joined to keep up with whats doin since I just picked up my 2018 CrewMax 1794 truck.
I remember being laughed at in 1989 for paying 19K for the "new" 1990 4runner...lol.
Since that rig I have had a 97 Tacoma and a 2006 Tundra. Love the quality and reliability of their products. I hope my new Tundra follows that tradition.

Went to check the spare and hose it off today since the undercarriage of my new Tundra had a ton of mud underneath even though I had requested the dealer detail it before delivery. They missed the underside, haha. Wow what a surprise when 7 hours later and exhausted from being on my back with a power washer I STILL haven't got all the what I thought was mud off. Turns out its sand, beach sand compacted into all the nooks and crannies under there...lol. I noticed about half way thru when it warmed up a bit it all started smelling like the beach....ain't none of them in the Idaho panhandle, haha.
I will finish up tomorrow and probably shoot a few cans of rubberized undercoat all about the undercarriage.
I hope to be able to gain a lot of knowledge from the collective braintrust here and also hope I can contribute some useful thoughts as well.

    Peace,
    Peter

    Yes I checked the Carfax.
My best guess for the sand? dirt? is that the previous owner was into drilling as in oil or nat gas. Thats the only place I ve seenthe type of sticky salty mud which was entangled in everything under my truck. finally at the stage where the under carriage is 95% clean. I have used rubberized undercoatings on my trucks for the last 25 years and never had any issues with them peeling off and or trapping water. If applied correctly my experience is that they work just fine. thanks for the videos though they were interesting to watch.
