My DeWalt was crapping out and I decided I wanted a new drill, plus an excuse for the cabinet hardware

Before and after in part of the kitchen.

Appliance shop wanted $150 to do the install. 5 YouTube videos and 3 hours later, I installed it. Had zero confidence in myself that I would be able to do it without it being crooked or hanging in some unsafe way but so far so good. It hasn’t fallen and destroyed the stove as of yet!
Next up is putting in a new dishwasher. Wish me luck!

Personally, I think mowing the lawn is fun. My wife does it and I'm OK with that....from my chair.

Don't worry about the messy bench if fixing it detracts from range time.

I've done SO many things to our home (and truck) just from watching YouTube videos.
    Dishwasher is fairly easy.
Just check the supply and drain for leaks...

Man I wish we had a gas stove..
We have gas water heater, gas furnace, gas starter to the fireplace, but electric stove and clothes dryer...:eek2:

Stove is on a exterior wall.
I don't want a pipe running down the outside wall of my house.
I've been told there is no way to conceal it without ripping the sheetrock off the interior wall.

We have a nice GE double oven glass top stove.
It works fine, but the next house must have gas, and a kitchen vent that vents outside.

    Nice Job!

you might double check your installation manual.
Typically, most range fan / micro hood installations for a gas range, require 24" to 30" clearance to combustibles .

It appears yours is at 19" based off the standard 18" upper cabinet height from countertop.

Thanks for the tips on the dishwasher install. I’m currently in the process of researching the install by watching YouTube videos until I feel confident enough to not flood my house

You must not be married lol. Doing a backsplash is relatively easy as the hardest part will be doing the outlet cutouts. Behind the stove it doesn't go all the way down and on the side, you can use differnent tile, bigger tile, and run it all the way down so it'll be easier to clean the food splats off of it.
Yeah, I'm retired, so I look for things to do. :-D

    Nice kitchen.
You're going to like that drill. Is that the compact? Last purchase I did was the radio/player/charger. It's bluetooth, so I can play music off of a tablet and bring the radio around with me in the messy areas. Gave wife my old milwaukee radio and she said after it for about a half an hour, she said she found a radio. ;-)

In that case, T off the gas before it goes into the house and run a line underground to where your kitchen is. Then bring it up and into where the stove is. Very doable, but I don't know how the regs are where you live or your comfort level. An hvac person could do it for you also.
We had a radiant and convection, elect dryer and I changed it all out to NG. Love it. Clothes dry faster for less and cooking is hotter. Definitely on my list is an exterior vented fan for it--when I redo the kitchen. Might run a gas line out to a grill on the deck...after I redo the deck. Didn't know retirement would be so darned busy.

I’m engaged and she is constantly talking about getting rid of the tile or covering them. After we get the rest of the house painted, I think the tiles are the next thing to go. You make it sound really easy lol. I appreciate the advice. I think the only thing that may give me some trouble is removing the old tiles.

I've done 4 or 5 of them. Only issues I've really run into is every one of them had a different water connection requiring a trip back to the store.

Before or after the wedding? :-D
Tile on that is easy as it's a small area/job and you'll be putting them on drywall from the looks of it. Sometimes they pop off easy and other times, parts of the DW come out with it. What I like to do is if it's going to not come off easy, take out the tile and drywall at once--hammer bashing and pulling. If you can extend the area tiled, it's better as you can just bash out the edge tiles. Then put in a piece of tile backer (or drywall) and just tile over that joint to the new edge.
Do yourself a favor when you do this--get larger tile and all the same thickness. If you get a sheet (mosaic) and they are in different depths/lengths, it'll require a lot of hand cutting and replacement to make sure the box covers sit flush. Also 'metal' tile is a PITA because it's just a thin metal cap, so if you have to cut it, it'll leave an edge. I just replace the metal ones in a sheet if i have to cut that, but again, that's making it more complicated, creating more work.
Bigger tile can also be cut with a hand grinder (4.5" grinder) and a (inexpensive/cheap) hand cutter (snap cutter, pancake cutter).
Your reference lines you'll go off of will be the countertop for level and cabinets for plumb, so you won't even need a level--assuming they're done right.

When you do it you'll have a helper, so more ease as clean up will be a snap. :-D

Now you know why plumbers have vans loaded with a billion different parts.
I'm rural, so I have a big plastic tub full of nothing but pvc/abs connections of different sizes and sorts. Restore is a great place to buy them as they have a lot of leftovers there, oddball stuff and that's what we run into a lot of times, so whenver I see something I could need, I'd buy it. A dime each or so made it easy.

and cheaper/quicker than running into town so often in the middle of a job.

Your making me think I can actually do it lol. I’m gonna make sure to reference your posts when I decide to tackle it. It’s high on her priority list. She wanted to first try putting some sort of vinyl appliqué on them to dress em up but I think she may have gotten over that.

when you do it, post it in a thread here and I'm sure enough people here can help. Sounds like she's the perfect helper. My wife first learned on my wet saw, then trim gun....it's a progress you have to do once you're married, get them competent on using tools so later you can just post about it from a lazy boy while they work.
It's all part of The Grand Plan. :-D

Might as well tear it all up and do it at once--ish.
Look into just buying new doors so you'll just have do deal w/the frames. Quicker and often better results.
