My favorite look on the Tundra is the 2-3 inch lift with 295/70/R18. My problem of course is it seems this fits some but not others without minor to massive trimming. My question is the TRD Pro is stated to have a 2.5" lift. Many owners seem to upgrade to the Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Toyo Open Country in 295/70R18 using the stock TRD rims without any issues other then removal of the front little mudguard. Two great videos on YouTube by "Addicted Fishing" and the other by "Untamed Motors" both show this example along with others on forums stating they have done it. Did Toyota do something different with the caster to allow a tiny bit extra in the rear? It just seems unusual that so many people have such a hard time fitting this tire and even the 285/70R18 which is another 1/2" shorter without serious trimming. Any thoughts?

I think the major variance is the tire brand. Not all 295's are equal, some are closer to 35" while others are closer to 34" which can definitely play a role in fitment and UCA clearance. I have a set of 295/70/18 Wildpeak's that i have yet to mount because im shopping for a lift. I plan on running it on the TRD wheels as well. It appears that will work with a minimum 2" lift with stock UCA's based on posts ive seen here for that specific tire.

I’m actually close to pulling the trigger on Ridge Grapplers for my ‘20 Pro. I’m going 285/70 for weight. The size difference between the 285 and 295 are very negligible considering the additional 40 pounds. Something to consider.....
