Pennzoil platinum full synthetic 0w20. Impressed with it, made the engine quiet down a lot. Had the same complaint as you when I first bought my truck.

I've had no problems with mobil1, pennzoil platinum, supertech, and kirkland. I prefer kirkland(costco) now because their synthetic is only $22 for 10 qts.

Slippery stuff. Don’t worry about the noise, as long as you use decent oil of the recommended viscosity and change it per the manual, you’re good.

    I like canola, less fat

Serious, Mobil 1 is all I use. Nothing wrong with the others, I just like it.

Amazon has good synthetic oil as well, at a great price. I’ve seen some tests that compare it to Mobil 1 and other popular synthetics. It performs really well and costs about half as much.

Looking at the Amazon oil, price is not off that much from my local Wally World. 22-25$ a jug for Mobile 1. Get the 0W20 and 0W40 for tundra and Porsche Boxster. My local tractor supply had 5W20 Mobile 1 Synthetic on clearance for 14$ a jug. ( bought all that was on the shelf)

Mobil 1 or Valvoline Synthetic. However, you cannot go wrong with any of the available synthetic oils on the market today.

If you want to quiet it down run 5w30. I personally have 5w30 Shell Rotella Gas Truck oil in mine. 0w20 is only speced in the US to meet CAFE standards by very marginally increasing milage. Toyota allows 5w30 in the Tundra 5.7 in Mexico and also allows it in the same 5.7 in the Land Cruiser world wide.

Mobil one Wally World 5 qt jug for $22... Napa Gold filters. Hit up "bob is the oil guy". There are better oils, but for the money, I rather do mobil 1 at regular service intervals. I have had three vehicles with over 150k on the clocks and never skipped a beat.

I got a hell of an education on grease with trailer wheel bearings, boat trailers, and heavy equipment. Cheap grease costs a LOT of money!!! LOL

Appreciate all your advise guys much appreciated!! And as the obnoxious remark stating do my research it was an honest question!! Isn’t this what this forum is for? It’s my first v8 And I’ve heard a lot of trucks that don’t sound like these do that’s all I was getting at. Thanks again

It's like a beer. Try different ones, it doesn't hurt anything. Personally, I use Pennzoil ultra now.

    Not enough....
As long as you don't run the cheapest crap on the shelf, you'll be just fine

    But.......my personal favorite:[IMG]

I run Rotella T6 in my turbo GTO and it's fantastic. I have done an oil analysis to back it up, and I plan to do it on the Tundra once it's ready for the next oil change.

The only oil that touches my Vehicles is Valvoline. I tried Mobil 1 before but then saw where it didn’t do so good in a wear test. That same wear test I saw clearly showed Amsoil as the premium oil. I’d be interested in switching to Amsoil.
