My truck hasn't got a lot of attention since doing the timing belt, so I cleaned her up today. Still shines up pretty well considering she's only had one coat of wax in YEARS (I know..)
I need to touch up my mirror arms with a little flat black as well.

Well, back under the pole barn she goes...

I thought that too when I saw your cookout; I'm on a little over 5 wooded acres that bumps up to 30 acres of untouchable county green-space.
    Nice and quiet!

    Thanks for the props!

Can't beat the peace, and quiet. Front and back porch are extremely effective for "loon-gie" time. The people that live in "maggot-ville" don't know what they are missing. Most buy a John deere riding lawnmower to mow their 1/16th acre enclosed flat lawn. Think they are living the life when they could spit out their window and hit their neighbor's house on either side. The rubber prevents the metal on metal from putting a hole in your tank.

Two coats are done. I think I'll do at least 1 more as this is the top piece.

All I did with my Tundra was finally drive it on Friday after I got the last castle nuts in the mail and finished my LBJ replacement. Should I be getting an alignment after changing the Lower Ball joints?

Probably not the worst idea. Imo, anytime you mess with the front suspension in any way, you're better off getting an alignment

Unless your doing more suspension work soon, I would get an alignment soon as you can.

Is it bad I do alignments on my cars when I get bored at work?

No kidding. That'd be $2k round trip. I had one of my SHOs shipped from CA to TX. $900.

Just buy a scooter and throw it in the back. Drive the truck out and scooter home.

Yea, NOT what I was expecting. I had a quote 2 months earlier to ship a 5spd SC300 that was super clean from Arizona for $800. So when I bought my Tundra sight unseen for $3k I thought it would run about $1,000 to ship but because its bumFkIdaho, apparently fewer people travel it and it was $1,800 plus it took like 4+ weeks to get it. Nothing like buying a non-running 282K mile supercharged truck for $4,800!

That's how I got my truck. One way ticket to dfw and drove it back here. My other SHO me and the gf got one way tickets to Indianapolis and drove it back. That was.....exciting. 28 year old car on a 1000 mile voyage. Made it ok but man, it was nerve wracking.

Same same with our 4runner, one way to Sandy Ego, met the cute Prosthetics nurse at her bank, was driving it back by 12pm. I was about 100miles from home before I realized I could adjust the lumbar support!!!
I later on found what I thought was some type of smoking device in the jack compartment, she told me it was the “leg bone” from her work; she put it in there incase she couldn’t break the lugs loose( it was a titanium(probably just aluminum)breaker bar basically)

I haven't even turned the engine over today. Woke up, did my morning routine, and headed to the lake. All excited like.

Got here, and scooted out to a few spots. Caught 2 fish right off the bat. All quiet for 3 hours.

Caught 2 more fish back to back. All quiet.

Sunburnt, out of beer, and the rain is closing in.

    Its been a good day.:D:cool:

We fish for catfish. We still have 12 filets, and 2 "fiddlers" at the house from Friday's haul. Yes, we absolutely have a lil fish fry.

For those that don't know a fiddler is a catfish that is too small to filet, but big enough to keep. Gut it, skin it, cut the head off, leave the tail fins, and other fins alone, remove the barbs from the fins and then fry em up.

Not a damn thing biting. Not even bluegills.
Nothing on shrimp, worms, liver, or our "secret" bait.

Whenever we fish with shrimp we always tell people "we fish like the government" spend $6 dollars on a medium bag of raw shrimp to catch $2 worth of catfish

This is our haul from Friday.received_2544427935872539.jpg

    Everything we use is old.

Our 16 foot johnboat is a 1978 model.

Our fishing poles are a few years old. At most 10. Our reels are 4-5 years old.

Batteries for our electric outboard are old car batteries including the original Tundra battery. The outboard itself is 12 years old.

Our fish finder that we can't find is 10 years old.

Everything is out of date except our fishling line, our bait, and our gear in the water.

No reason to go out and buy a $30,000+ boat to put in 4 miles away, and run wide open for 30 minutes just to cast out 5 times at one spot, and then run wide open to a different spot, and do it again. That's just wasting time.
