I find my self often hearing slight noises that are strange but wouldn't say note worth, a small clank here and maybe a swaylink bind there, but nothing big of an issue. My truck is an 07 DC 5.7 4WD with just under 240k on it, and it just seems strange I have yet to run into a major issue or something noteworthy. I'm looking for personal experience or any advice on things to look out for, I am aware of the frame recall which I've done aswell and the bed rusting which I'm working on getting fixed. I know the water pumps are know for issues and that's been done just about 170k so I'm good there. I hear there's a steering component that goes bad but as far as I know and the 6 years owning the truck and researching that's all I can find. With that being said my life's taking me in a direction where I'd like to keep the truck for a while longer so I'm seeing if anyone with more knowledge has and insight on some prevent things to look for. Thanks!

At 12 years of ownership and 220k right now on a 5.7 2wd DC SR5 long bed,

    Starter replaced at 210k
Fuel gauge has been off for the last 3-4 years
window switch replacement, under TSB about 3 years ago
Stock head unit ate my CDs and wont eject them, lol...

I've had issues early on, within the first 3 years of ownership
    Transmission seals leaking at 30k
Electrical gremlins which are pretty much gone
Water pump bursted and replaced around 30k
    frame inspection
Driver door realignment with Dash re-dye due to rubbing
Driver seat has a rod sticking out 15k, was never resolved.
Paint peel about 15k, These last 3 were probably because the truck was wrecked at some point in the dealer lot, damage is still undisclosed...

Trans for 2007-2008 had a recall to replace before 36k and mine went to 164k and they still did it because I wasn't notified of it

I didn't know of such recall, as far as I know, I'm still on the original transmission.

It was for a certain reason like because I had the tow package with something else

I'll have to look into it, I do have the tow package too.
