I don't know, I think I could've gotten a couple more years out of this timing belt.

It was so bad, besides the obvious looks of it, the timing belt tensioner was making such a racket when it was running, it sounded like a diesel clattering away. I dodged a bullet big time

Oh yeah.....I went out and bought a lottery ticket after seeing that. Of course, the timing belt was my only bit of luck, but I'll take.

I should mention that it had 141,000+ miles and 15 years on it.

141,000+ relatively easy miles on her although I've only put around 30,000 on it since I got it

That's why I always replaced mine between 90,000 and 100,000 miles. Cheap insurance

I've been wanting to change it for the last couple of years, but I almost lost my leg in 2018 to an infection and my wife has stage 4 colon cancer, so money has been tight. But it's done now and I won't let it get this bad again

Thank you sir. The chemo is kicking her butt but she's a fighter. I think if that timing belt broke and kapowed the engine, I would've been pulling what's left of my hair and I would be running for the hills

I hear you. No major problems going on with my family, but I am ready to run for the hills due to things beyond my control with society. Hang in there!

Whoa! We bought an 06 Outback with a belt that looked like that. The shop showed it to me during the pre-purchase inspection. The car didn't leave their parking lot until that belt was replaced.

age got to that one. ive never seen one that cracked up even with 200k on it! best to replace them before the 10 year mark. ideally 6 years for any rubber belt or tires.. reguardless of mileage. they dry out

Thank you guys for the well wishes. My wife is a fighter and she's doing pretty good, but the chemo is probably one of the worst part of this whole fight. She's tired, worn out and in pain most days, but she's fighting to see our 11 and 7 year old girls grow up.

This summer, we're planning on going on some trips to explore the state, see her aunt and uncle in the Boise area and just make memories....so this truck needs to take us everywhere
