I wanted to put a post out there to help those searching for the right setup for them and wanting to see pics of what something may look like.

I started with a stock TRD Offroad 4x4 and immediately started researching leveling kits. I ended up settling on a Low-Range Offroad 3-1 kit but Instead of using the block, I wanted a little more rear lift so I skipped the block and added a Coachbuilder +3 shackle. However, when I made this decision I also had to add a carrier bearing drop kit as well as a spacer for the Firestone Ride-Rite airbags that were on the truck from the previous owner. I completed this upgrade with some SCS SR8s and 295/70-18 Cooper AT3 XLT’s.

I had that for about a year and then got the itch to go bigger. After some looking around and pricing stuff out, I took the plunge on a Rough Country 6” kit with the Vertex Coilovers in the front and the V2 monotube Shocks in the rear. I haven’t found a ton of information from people on the Vertex as they are relatively new but I wanted to get away from the spacer in the front and it was about a $400 cost adder over the lifted struts from RC so I went ahead and went to the Vertex. When the shop went to install, I left the Coachbuilder shackles in to keep some rake.

Hope the story and pictures help others in making their decisions. Overall, the ride quality is great compared to the spacer kit I had previously. For the type of driving I do which is mostly highway & around my neighborhood/town, this set up is perfect for me.

Did you consider the rear vertex as well? I’ve been running stocks with a spacer and RC’s N2’s in the rear for the past couple years and thinking about upgrading soon
