2020 4Runner was today’s project. Did the whole process and applied 2 coats of Cquartz with reload after. Fun truck to do and had some help from the owner. 516383D5-CB68-41A4-B7ED-E17B851C4AD6.jpg262FC14B-6DD0-4547-AAAB-91772FF10DD8.jpgA37AD4AB-059E-4509-A89F-AE5B93970F60.jpg7C963859-FEDA-4A83-BA19-2E08D7728A06.jpgE283B631-ACB6-405B-9C8E-EA5DFE950FC3.jpg

That turned out great brother! What are you sealing it with? I haven’t done yellow yet.

One of my customers just bought a 2005 Hummer H2 that he wants me to work on. It’s “Stealth Gray”, so I’ll probably go with Powerlock since I’ve had great results on MGM with it.

I’d say a good all in one like Meguair’s D166, 3D One, or similar. I’ve had good results with both of these. The Meguair’s does have wax in it, which you may not want. I don’t believe 3D One has any protectant mixed in.

Did you place an order with Shine Supply yet? They came out with an All in One. I have it, but haven’t used it yet.

Another thing: If you’ve already put Reload on I’d hold off on Powerlock. I don’t think there’d be any benefit, and the Reload may keep Powerlock from bonding. It’s probably one or the other with those two products, though I haven’t actually tried it. I could be wrong. I know Powerlock and Beadmaker don’t work well together.

I haven’t clicked purchase yet lol because I keep hearing about something else I want to try. It’s an addiction at this point. When I first followed this thread I was like how do you end up with all this product on a shelf. I get it now. I will order the shine supply all in 1.

another question I have 1 coat of CQuartz U.K. 3.0 on my tundra. I applied in March. Can I add a second coat now and if so how do I prep

Perfect I used reload because it’s on the shelf and I really like it. I was on another forum last night and saw many complaints about it streaking but I have never had that issue.

I know some people do multiple coats, but I believe it’s usually within a 24 hour period. Not sure what prep you would need to do after a couple of months. I’d recommend emailing Corey with Carpro and asking him. He’s really responsive, and usually answers the same day. Corey@CarPro-US.com

By the way, they are based just north of Orlando. You should visit them if you’re ever in the area.

I’ve heard the same, but never had a real issue with it either. Certainly no more than any other similar product.

Buying a black truck is what got me into this whole mess. Never cared about it so much before then. I don’t even wanna know how much I’ve spent in the three years since I got hooked. It’s definitely a pain in the ass this time of year. Me and @Pudge generally alternate how active we are with it depending on the time of year.

I haven’t used the Shine Supply one yet. You could email Jeremy for tips. jeremy@shinesupply.com He’s really responsive also. With 3D One, I’ve varied between white and black.

I do want to say I’m definitely not an expert at paint correction. I’ve not done a hell of a lot of it. Mostly just panels here and there. While it’s looked good to me, others on here would not likely be impressed.

    The message back from CarPro.

Hi Tom, thanks for the email! It is not advisable to apply another coat at this point. Better off to continue as is and then when it is time for a light polish and re-coat, then you can try two coats next time.

I keep some towels, detail spray, window cleaner, interior cleaner, and fragrance in a kit in my truck. It gives me something to do if I have to wait somewhere. I’ve also been known to grab my supplies and swing by a self service car wash on my way to work at 4am.

I have a bottle of Shine Supply Spiked Punch in the kit at the moment, so I went over it. I haven’t looked at it since the sun came out. It’s probably streaky as hell.
