OK, so I've got the following equipment sitting in our closet waiting on next Monday's install:

    - JBL Stadium 5 amp
    - 10" subwoofer enclosure (from Tech12Volts)
    - Kicker CompRT 10" 2 Ohm Sub
    - Axxess AX-MLOC740 4-channel LOC
    - Scosche X2 amp high-current install kit

Plan is to replace factory amp with aftermarket, using the LOC from Tech12Volts to keep it PNP; and then have the sub/enclosure installed. I'll likely have them at least install some sound deadener at the same time.

Anything else I'm missing for now? I was going to wait about a month before installing aftermarket speakers.

Additionally - plan is to keep the stock head unit long term; if this is the case, I'm assuming I'll want a DSP of some sort, correct?

There's been a couple different variants through out the year, but the chances are that you'll need a dsp that can take a digital signal as an input.

If that is the case, then James at tech12volts sells a nice one that he is also able to pre setup to work with your truck.

That's what I'm thinking, though (I believe) the install date will be here before I could get a DSP. I assume this is something I could have connected later....?

A dsp is optional in a non jbl system. I do not have one on my truck.

    It's a non-JBL system for sure. :)

Let’s ask James at @tech12volt just to be sure. I’m not 100% on the 2020

    His response:

LOL - well then, I'm good to go. (Full disclosure; am an IT guy and was an ET in the Navy, so I'm quite sure I could figure out what to do with it, but hey, if it's not needed, I won't bother spending the $ on it then. :)

You can also do the sound deadening yourself. It’s not too difficult- at least doing the door panels it wasn’t.

Well yeah, I should have clarified that since they'll already have the seats out to install the sub/enclosure, it shouldn't be too much more to add some sound deadener back there. I can do the doors on my own when I decide to upgrade the door speakers.

Ok, so the install was done, and it sounds fantastic, I might say - at least sort of. LOL The quality of the bass is far better, obviously. However, there wasn't that much in the way of mids/trebles to begin with...and now that there's more bass, obviously it's kind of drowning out the mids/trebles.

Some of that can be ameliorated (heh, my big word for the day) by doing some tweaking to the 5-channel amp that was installed, of course, but ultimately I'll need to install some aftermarket speakers. Tech12Volts recommends the K170 group buy with sail panels. For those who have this, what do you think of them? Satisfied overall? Not that I doubt at all James' recommendations, but real-world experiences are always nice to hear. :)
