Traded in Silverado 2500 for Tundra DC Limited. Loved the 2500 but don't tow anymore and it was wearing on me as a daily driver. Tundra was only choice for 1/2 ton. Have owned 3 Tacomas in the past but the new generation doesn't have the headroom anymore. So far, other than the non functioning "Remote Connect, " very happy. Does anyone have any experience with the Westin SureGrip running boards? Need a simple extra step for wife and my older dogs. Not looking for anything aggressive. Thanks. Bob

    Welcome from Oregon!!

sorry... can’t help much with the running boards, other than I’ve read on here to get running boards that leave no gap between the step and the body, as dogs can get their legs trapped/broken if they manage to step into that gap hopping into the cab.

    Welcome from Maine. Nice truck.

I have the Tyger Auto steps from Amazon. For 280$ I am impressed. Tight fit and very heavy duty one piece with good welds and perfect fit that is very tight to the body. The structure is heavy tubing and they are made to look like sliders but the top is flat and super stable and comfortable getting in and out. Way better than the OEM steps. I notice how solid and comfortable they are every time I use them. Use the foam blocks in the packing to hold them in place when installing as they are fairly heavy. No issues so far and I am very pleased with them.

How are those holding up in Maine? I’m from Maine as well and looked at the on Amazon but some of the reviews show some rust issues.

I just received these as well. I am beyond impressed at the running boards both looks and durability of them for the price point. Will try to post pics of mine too after this rain subsides.

I have had them on since the fall, so through one winter where we get with lots of road salt. I detailed the truck a few weeks ago and they looked good. I did see 1 tiny spot on a bracket beneath the truck that I made a note to treat.
Overall the truck is rust free and I want to keep it that way. So every spring I power wash the bottom and frame. Then will look for any signs of discoloration and Wipe/paint with rust preventer and check again later in the summer. I am old school, school so grease never gets wasted. I spread that on bolt heads and exposed threads.
