I always park with my hood up when out here in the boonies. Today I was going into town and tried to turn on the A/C and the fan would not work. I pulled over, pulled the cover off the cabin filter and the filter was almost disintegrated and the chamber was stuffed full of bark, twigs, leaves. I pulled out what I could but the fan is still jammed. How do I get to the fan? DO I have to remove the dash?

Where is the air intake that these little bastards are getting in? Does anyone know if it can be screened off?

I had this issue with mine about a year ago. I noticed when turning the AC on a terribly foul smell came out. Pulled the cabin air filter door off and the top of the filter was loaded with my dogs food/mouse shit. No idea how the mice got into it but the little bastards were relaying dog food from my back porch all the way to my truck in the cabin air filter.

I think the most common entrance is thru the fresh air duct on the cowel passenger side, I’ve seen write ups on people screening them off
