Got up early and went to the lake with the pup, she’s a short hair so she gets cold. I only landed one small one, it was nice to be there.

Nice! Is that snow on the ground across the lake, or just sand? Looks like you are up toward Flag or Payson.

Just part of the sandy beach or whatever it is. It’s a little gem just outside of Tucson on Mt Lemmon; Rose Canyon lake. It can get stupid busy with little kids, I was the first one in the drink this morning, and luckily everyone respected my space.

@empty_lord I have LEDs in my reverse lights (4 pack of cargo lights) and they work perfectly. All the others are regular filament bulbs.

I almost thought I had myself a donor truck today. Found a running and driving DC close by that had some significant body damage but the dude won’t reply to anything.

That sent me down the Copart rabbit hole. Has anyone bought a salvage or “for parts” vehicle from one of these online auction type things?

I imagine this is where most wrecking yards buy vehicles so you’d be bidding against them?

Same. No Leds for brake or parking. Don’t really see the benefit.

Reverse won’t have the issue. Tails will because they’re dual filament

I've got them in mine. I read about issues and went straight to Phillips or Sylvania I can't recall at the moment.

No issues with hyper flashing but the front signals are still incandescent

I don't recall having any problems. That was part of the reason I went with the name brand over Amazon specials.

i know i said id focus on the taco, but since the dash will be out one more time im thinking about possibly installing a front camera with the anytime front camera unit they sell for tacos. (my 86 radio may be plug and play with it.) would be a slick setup that i can control the front and rear camera with the steering wheel mode control. (i dont NEED it, but it would make it easier to pull in the garage straight in the 1st bay) and i may do a underseat sub (for both im looking at like 300 bucks..) still on the fence on ordering carpet for it because i just cant tell if it'll fit or not.. but goal is to have the dash out and painted this weekend, Tidy up wiring ive done recently, and get it all reinstalled MAYBE this weekend or over the next week (unless i add more stuff).

I will be unpinning the rear speaker connections to move them to a 4 pin connector to eventually add a under seat sub. will be easier with the dash out than doing it later.

I just saw these ones. I dont know who manufactures them but they look durable and extra batterie packs are only $20. I may buy two of these just so I can race friends when they come over.

No. Do you suppose that collapsed 1/4 and torn mudflap totaled the truck? It is at a pick-a-part.

Found a hole in my muffler yesterday, turns out the shop 2 years ago used the aluminized Walker instead of stainless. The part is under warranty but I have to pay labor.

So I've got 4 options because I'm not paying $500 for a Toyota part.

1 have the shop do the warranty and pay probably $50 for labor.
2 same but pay the extra to have them use the stainless version probably $100-150.
3 pay $120 for the stainless and install it myself.
4 buy a Thrush glasspack for $30 and install it myself.

Leaning towards #4 I've had them on 3 other vehicles and like the sound.

I'm trying to work out the same situation on my Tacoma. I'm leaning to 4, but with a Cherry Bomb. I like the sound on a turbocharged 4 I have, trying to decide how it's sound on a non-turbo'd 4.
But I agree, 4 sounds like a good idea. Otherwise, go with 2 - keep America working.

I was planning to do an oil change but couldn't find the filter I swear I bought. Instead of re-installing and removing the skid plate again later, I left it off for now. Anyone else running with no skid plate up front? I kind of like the look of it. Since I don't really do any serious off roading, I'm not sure how important it is.

I’ve ran no skid for almost 3 months now, due to rebuilding CVs and other front end works. It seems like everything is tucked up high and out of the way. I’ve wheeled with it off and not to worried either, I just know to place a rock under a tire not straddle it.
