It’s kind of scary when my $800 Weatherguard tool box is made sturdier that’s my $50k Tundra.
You guys know I am not trolling here just an observation. I am washing my truck so I get in bed to do the roof, step on wheel well of truck to use as a step to stand on Weatherguard toolbox to wash the roof.
When stepping on wheel well it dimples in, I am thinking no fricking way but tried two more times with same result. So I am 6’ and 230lbs, not skinny but if the frickin bed of the truck which should be the strongest will dent in upon standing on it ...... come on Toyota

Okay rant over, I love my truck but come onnn MAN!!!

That is good to know, I wouldn't have expected that either, so thank you for the warning! I did a quick Google about it and seemingly it is not a recent development, either. Do you have a spray-in bedliner?

I’ve had this happen to me also. I am 5’10 and 190 pounds. Luckily it bounces right back. But it definitely had me worried the first time it did it.

I have the factory spray in bed liner.

Meh, did the same thing in my 2013 F150, 2004 F150, etc.

I don’t think I’ve seen a Single truck that has strong sheet metal in the beds. Lined works wonders for protecting and adding meat to the metal

From what I've read, a drop-in bedliner can help, so I'll look into that from the aftermarket.

I never had anything like that happen with the truck this one was supposed to replace, but admittedly that truck is also nearly 30 years old. Now I'm curious how their deck height compares - am picking up a new water heater this weekend, so the lower, the better.

Had a large child fall against my 2018 F350 and permanently dented my front fender. I shit you not. Yes, your steel weatherguard toolbox is tougher than the body of any modern vehicle

I had a small construction company and have run every one of the big three in 3/4 and 1 ton with the last 10 years being 90% Ram. I can say that none of them did that which is why I was surprised an started this thread.
The bed has spray in liner so I hope it ( the bed )holds up and doesn’t look like the aluminum Ford bed on GM commercial when throwing firewood, cinder blocks or similar building materials in it. Not that I am in business anymore but I still use a truck like a truck was meant to be used.

Reading the thread, I was also reminded of those commercials and wondered the same! In my searching other websites yesterday for complaints about the bed I found an equal number of mentions of the bed denting and people discussing an optional "Tundra" logo in the bed.

Thank you for the warning about the drop in bed liner. Mine already has line-x, so if the drop-in will fit, I think it shouldn't wear through. My old truck had a factory drop-in bedliner for close to 20 years and it was as you said, so I had it line-x'd years ago.

Blame the CAFE rules, all manufacturers are constantly trying to make vehicles lighter & more efficient to meet MPG requirements

It’s hard to see but before I put my tonneau cover on and locked the Bedliner in I sprayed fluid film all over the bed to stop rusting. I’m going on my third year with spraying the underneath of my truck with fluid film and I’m really impressed with how little rusting has occurred.
