Today’s WOD. Simple but effective. 18:56 could have pushed harder on the runs but kept steady.

Well turned 38 today. Decided before I went to bed this morning I was pulling 5hundo again. It’s been probably 6 months since I pulled more then 450. Even used a stiff(power)bar. Kinda miss powerlifting. Now back to curling in my rack.

Since my gym closed I have stopped lifting.

As long as this lock-down doesn't last too long, I'm looking at this time as a good opportunity for all those nagging aches and pains to heal, shoulder and elbows, and then hit things fresh when the gym opens again.

I am continuing my aerobics, mainly bike riding.

dayum!!! I will never be close to that! Lol! So that’s deadlift 500 lbs!? Lol!
I haven’t done much bar stuff. Scared to hurt my old ass....but you’re only 1 year behind me lol :p

Used a 45# backpack and completed the Chad in 60:50 this morning. F! 500 weighted step ups is just as boring as running the Clovis lol

that’s a :censored: ton of weighted step ups. Maybe I’ll try that on Tuesday instead of doing my regular leg day. Doesn’t sound fun at all.
    24” box right?

    yeah that was 500 even.

    Crazy on 500!!!
Thankfully it was only a 20” box, we did partners with our womenz. Don’t think their short stubs could make a 24” LOL :D

    Haha I’m 6ft and I don’t think after 75 I would be able to do 24” lol.
I’m used to girls doing 20’ish inch box and guys 24” or 30 if RX+. Not that I have a ton of experience in the CrossFit world but that’s how SP does it.

Our boxes at the gym are 20”/24”/30”.
I started on 20” for a few months and then moved and stayed on 24” for quite a while. I didn’t even know for months that you would turn them on their side for a 30”. One work out was 30”, and I was so incredibly scared!!! LOL!! I loved the challenge though, especially with full wood that would destroy your shins. So I always try to do 30” when there isn’t a ton of them, so when 24”s come it’s easier lol.
When we were in Napa a few months ago there was a chair that was pretty high - after multiple beers my wife had some idea that I could box jump it LOL! (I had previously hopped up for a picture).
To my surprise I was able to get it, which from my waistline height I’m guessing was around 40”+ jump - I’m 5’10”.
The next night, our friends came - I tried again after a day/night of drinking, I didn’t make it - destroyed my shin, and it’s still sore to this day. LMFAO!!

    Turned 50 in February.
Am at the same weight I was in college.
    5' 9" 163 Lbs I keep it simple:
Elliptical cardio: 45 minutes x 3...M-W-F minimum. (Will do the Beach Body 'Insanity' cardio workout occasionally to break up the monotony..Month 1 of the workout only.)
    - Keep the carbs low, protein intake high
    - Drink at least 50 ounces of water daily
    - Walk the dog twice a day (she actually pulls me most of the distance...)
    - I think to myself, "You don't need as many calories as you think you do...."
    - Make it a lifestyle...not a diet
    - No eating after 7pm or before 7am
    - Portion control at meals
    - Vacations and business travel are not an excuse for me to splurge...

    We all find our groove.
This is what has worked for me.
    Best wishes with your groove!

You nailed it. Those things really are the key. Diet should be a lifestyle, not something you do for 30 days. Food should be for fuel, instead of pure enjoyment. That’s not to say you can’t enjoy it, but if what you put in is crap, then, well... we all know how the saying goes.

when I first started doing CF I scaled down to 20 as well. Then up to 24. I first bought a soft box to avoid the shin strikes. Well I forgot one day that if my garage door was up and I’m doing box jumps on 24 I need to watch my head on rafters/garage door opener. Haha one day I came way to close to putting my head into the motor and bailed off the other side of the box and out through the garage door.
I bought a regular wood box for weighted step ups, overs. I have nailed my shin a couple times doing box jumps.

Ran through another Murph unweighted today for an “active rest day”. Got the gym mats all cleaned up as it was overdue.

I've been doing the 'Murph' workout as well. It's a butt kicker but definitely a jump start to the rest of the day. Got my family doing it too.

We did a Zoom group workout today with the gym owner coaching, it was pretty cool. Was at our friends house and their gym though, not my normal group of folks I miss.

    1 mile run
    100 pull-ups
    200 push-ups
    300 squats
    1 mile run
Can do with or without a weight vest. Some split the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats into 10 groups of 10,20,30 respectively.

Home workouts. Bodyweight exercises are under estimated IMO, do 100 of anything and it's working.

Dang! For some reason I missed the tag notification on this.
Do you have any 45# plates left? If so what’s the cost for those guys? A gym friend gave us a nice wood box, but it’s 24” and 30” - which sucks for my wife lol.
Maybe interested in the soft box as well - if anything is still available.
