I just picked up a set of front and rear bumpers caps to replace my chrome ones and can not figure out how to install the rears. I had the chrome ones off but the new ones don’t line up with the old brace. I’m wondering if there is another brace that I need? Theses bumpers came off a 2018 Platinum. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. 710F472E-4F3D-4624-A645-68F6CD568193.jpg

Looking at sparks website it looks like I may need a rear bumper reinforcement for each side and the covers bolt to that.

From what I’ve seen on here, going from chrome rear caps to the painted plastic ones is an expensive swap.

These are the actual bumper ends from Toyota, not the covers that go over the chrome. It looks like a need a reinforcement in each side. Looks like they cost roughly $180/each from sparks.

Thanks for posting that. Yeah in the one pic it shows the reinforcement going on before the cover. That’s the piece I’m missing. Thanks again:

I'll tell you right now getting the black plastic steps/middle part is kind of a bitch to get out. Do yourself a huge favor and get some 11 inch, 90 degree bend needle nose pliers. It takes an hour long job down to a few minutes.

Yeah I actually removed it all today only to realize I don’t have those reinforcements. The plastic piece was a total PITA. My finger tips are killing. Great idea on the pliers though thanks I’ll try that next time.
