hey guys just received my goodies from sparks parts for my '19 sr5. Bumper caps and platinum grille(with bulge) in MGM.

I've seen Robmotives full swap on YouTube. Basically you just transfer everything(TSS sensor and emblem) over, and everything should line up. TSS sensor lines up perfectly. However, my OEM emblem will not line up what so ever!! The cut outs are different!

I will have to cut all posts on my existing emblem, and gorilla glue it onto the grille. I really don't want to do that on a $400 grille. Anybody have this issue before?

I broke my old emblem and had to use gorilla glue which worked fantastic. I’m sure you can get it out without breaking somehow, but I was super careful and still broke the tabs.

The emblem is out, no problem. The problem is that it won't line up any which way with my new honeycomb platinum grille. Here is a picture for reference of my emblem along with the new grille.

yeah the emblem thats fits this grille is $400. Strange how some people got there's to be a straight swap. Something was changed along the line. This is probably a 2020 grille, and the info is incorrect on their website. I am not going to hack up my current emblem. If I mess it up, I'm out that as well. I do not recommend sparks parts as their customer service is non-existent. You have to text. I got one response and was asked for pictures. They left me hanging with no response. I will be returning this grill, and just plasti-dip my current sr5 grille. I also received the bumper caps from them. While everything was packaged extremely well and shipped fast, I cannot recommend the bumper caps either. Nearly $600 for flimsy plastic pieces painted to match. You are better off plasti-dipping everything.

Can’t imagine the emblem would have changed from 19 to 20... can you not just swap inserts from your SR5 grill to the platinum grill surround? They seem identical.

I can, and I may resort to that, but it's a royal PIA. I slightly disassembled it today before stopping. Clips will definitely be broken. I'm not about to F-up my $350 brand new grille. Also, the platinum grill is fully painted MGM. The insert is high gloss MGM, and looks amazing in person. My stock sr5 honeycomb insert is a matte gray.

I understand that, but this is that same grille that people have been ordering from sparks parts for a direct upgrade. They have been able to just "snap" their existing sr5 emblem into place. My new platinum grille has a totally different cut-out.

Sparks parts even states that your existing 2018 emblem easily transfers over.

My box that it was packaged in has a sticker date of 4/3/20 from Toyota. I'm thinking something changed, that most people aren't aware of. Sparks parts was useless today with customer service, especially because they don't receive calls, only text.

I opted for the more glossy one, just thought it looked a little higher end and I broke the 2 plastic posts as well but the pop in clips were fine and held the emblem in just fine as well...mine is a 2019 and matched up perfectly, weird that the 2020 isn’t the same.

This better explains it. Check the cut outs. The oval and emblem mount is correct. That is not the problem. Look at the cut outs and mounting holes. My existing 2019 has a bigger opening, as well as many more holes for my emblem to grab on. The new grille, will not accept it all unless I hack off everything. If I do that, I will have to super glue it to the new grille. I will then ruin both my new grill and current emblem. What if my TSS sensor doesn't like that, well then I just jacked up my emblem and now need another $300 emblem. Thats my problem. I'm handy and can definitely fit it in there, but I didn't pay $350 to Frankenstein my grille...thanks for all the tips guys!!

OK! After digging around the entire day. I found it. The emblem that will fit is for a 2020.

Sparks parts sent me the wrong part. They may not be aware, but I am still pissed at their piss poor customer service.

I ordered a 2019 platinum grille with hood bulge. I apparently got a 2020. This is the emblem that fits it. Notice that models don't include anything below a 2020..

You did! Sparks parts is taking this back with free shipping and a discount on the new grille, or they are sending me a compatible emblem. I had way too much of a headache for this crap. Their website is still listing these grills as 2019 and up. More like just 2019..which is what I need..or a 2020 emblem..

That sucks, not your fault. It’s theirs. Poor descriptions. I would run with Toyota of cool springs, they also offer free shipping right now and their parts are cheaper than sparks from what I’ve seen

Yeah their renderings in the website are not accurate. When in was looking for the platinum grille the picture had one with the center bar and Toyota written on it but based on the part number it was listed as platinum.
