    2020 Tundra - Cement - TRD Off-Road
    Hello everyone,
New to this sight and new to the Tundra world. I am about to buy a 2020 Tundra, Hopefully limited, Crewmax, with the TRD Off Road package (the OR package is a must for me, I like the features and underside protection). I am coming from a 2019 Ford F150 because I have 13000 miles on my F150 and have had a couple of major problems, and some minor problems.

I used to own a Tacoma, but I wanted something bigger. Just because of overall ratings and features, I went with the F150. (Yes I did research, knew it would probably not be as reliable, but did not expect what I got.) BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. From the 5.0 engine burning oil like its its day job, to the center screen freezing every other day or so, and after working on it just seeing how cheaply it was made, I decided to switch back to Toyota and get a Tundra. I am doing this because I want to trade the F150 while it still has some value, and I do not want to continue to deal with this on a regular basis. (Yes, I have taken it to Ford multiple times.)

Anyway, hopefully once COVID-19 starts to pass and I work with the dealer that I have worked with the past 5 years for other vehicles, I can pick up a 2020 Tundra and have it I am hoping for a long, long, long time. Funny enough I bought the Ford for the features, and now the 2020 has most of the features I am looking for. Plus, even if it did not, I want a reliable work horse for years to come, not a work for a week, spend a week in the shop kind of deal.

So far from reading, looks like a great forum, very informative, cannot wait to get the truck and start putting some extra stuff on it, and using it how a truck should always work, dependably.

Welcome! I also traded in my F150, but mine was a 2013....and hearing you talk about how the screen froze up every other day or so tells me (duh) I made the right choice too. The Sync 1 system (4.2") in my '13 was the WORST media system I've ever had. LOL Honestly, the F150 wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't a Tundra, that is for sure.

In any event, welcome! I'm dead sure you'll enjoy the hell out of your new truck. :)

Welcome from IL! I was in the same boat. Had a 2013 F-150 after driving Toyota's for years. Big mistake. Traded it in on my 2014 and haven't looked back. What a difference in quality! Live and learn I guess...

I think you said it exactly right, the F150 is not terrible, but it is not a Tundra.
