Those turbo trucks always sound weird to me, regardless of how quickly they move. They don't sound like a truck is supposed to, no rumble.

Thank you for info, really appreciate it. Pretty sure the RCI is the right one for my setup. I am not sure I will need the extra bar but I will call them. An yeah they are one of the good ones, I have dealt with them before. Thanks again and look forward to more of your build.

Wait so you got the long bed option on a short bed?

    Maybe I read that wrong.

I too am interested in the rci rack to start my dip into overland. Still have no idea what I’m doing but would be cool to park anywhere and camp.

You read that right. Long bed universal rack on a crewmax. They make an extension bracket. I’ll take pictures in the morning for ya.

Thanks! Did you just do that so that it takes up more of the bed?

Too bad you can't get a commission from RCI for all the sales you are generating for them here Jason:D...I ended up ordering the RCI rack after receiving the stimulus. I call it my Trump rack. Can't wait to get it.

I think I’ll be doing the same. What method did you get yours? Physical check? Direct deposit?

Direct deposit. Bought the rack and a drivers side grab handle kit off of Roman. Hopefully I refrain myself and use the rest for gas.

I’m just happy you guys are pumping those dollars into an American company! I am going to get their sliders and skid set one day. Their products are priced competitively, but it was the customer service that won me over. I’m a sucker for manners. Here’s a shot of their mounting bracket for the long bed rack on a short bed. It allows a few inches over the ends of the rail system. 15570745-9653-4251-A4E3-E6C6AC17A112.jpg

I think it looks way better with more bed taken up and I have the cvt mt rainier, which is huge. CC0C91B6-0B27-466D-949E-48C30E48D333.jpg

I have their engine and fuel skid. Great build quality.

definitely will be doing the rack. Which mounting option is that in their site? Before the adapter plate was it the c clamp thing or the OEM toyota bed rails. Looks like you have the rails but I don’t see the rack even coming to close to them.

That silver bar in my pic is their adapter for the long bed rack on a short bed. Just call them and ask for it when you order. I don’t think the website has that option.
