Although, I think some people are mislabeled as panic buyers. Probably some just bought extra because they saw assholes buying truck fulls of stuff. Or just the thought of people taking too much causes others to go and grab extra.

Potted fruit and vegetables and seeds for spring gardens. We grow own our tomatoes, peppers, peas, lettuce, herbs in our tiny backyard garden...don't think that will be possible this year.

You know it’s kind of funny but I used to buy a package of toilet paper whenever it went on sale , my wife used to get mad at me because we had quite a bit , I said to her that it doesn’t go bad and you just flush it down the toilet anyway , we haven’t needed to buy any since all this started .

Starting to see crayons and colored pencils thinning out....... When the mess first started and all the meat was sold, people realized that they had nowhere to put it and bought all of the freezers. You couldn't fine them anywhere.

Already seedsavers (Baker Creek) and other heirloom seed sellers are wholly or mostly sold out. Local started organic plants are sold out as well. However, Home Depot still has both seeds (GMO mostly) and started plants.

Ive heard chicks are sold out already as well, in many parts of the country.

I do wonder how productive it will be though, people who’ve never raised veggies or chickens, starting both because they feel they’re in crisis mode. I found there’s a learning curve to both, especially to starting food crops from seed.

My contribution to this thread of anticipated calamity: meat will be the next shortage. Numerous cases of Covid-19 among workers at one large meat plant in Colorado; so many at chicken processing plants in the south, they’ve had to close down. Either the supply chain will be disrupted -OR- if new illnesses are traced back to meat packaged in these facilities, people will stop buying out of fear... which will hurt those industries (and dozens more related industries).

When I see a sign that says limit of 2, I buy 3 just to see if anyone would call me out on it. So far nothing and I'm stocked up for, ok an extra week maybe?

I am seeing canned goods taking a hit lately.

Next item will be fresh meat I think.

I dunno. Given his signature (which I don't disagree with at all), I would hope that more people start to buy (panic or not) into something with lasting significance and worth, such as forsaking Facebook/Snapchat/etc. for more time with their family and the like.

With that said, I know what you mean - e.g., what's the next physical/tangible panic buy going to be. I can tell you that an unspoken panic buy has been alcohol. When this thing seriously began to hit, wife and I sent to Sam's Club to get a few more staples. We're VERY well stocked up, but from both a subsistence and a 'paying it forward' POV, it never hurts to have more.

The two trucks in front of me had *AT LEAST* 20 (that's twenty) 24-packs of Bud Light. Not even an exaggeration at all.

My guess for the next panic buy is dental supplies. Toothbrushes, tooth paste, floss, water picks, etc.

Pet food was already cleaned out at my local Fart & Sminal.
