Hey guys, I screwed up this morning going through an unfamiliar to me drive thru to pick up breakfast. I’m no body work/paint expert. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? If it can be fixed? Alternately if I’m better off with a new one, should I replace the one with OEM or go with a particular set of aftermarket flares. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated. Truck is a 2019 Pro. I’ve already washed the area. Thanks in advance 5342338A-20A8-46F3-A2AA-45F9AA7592C7.jpg

Did you try buffing it out? Doesn't look that bad in the picture.

My thought as well. Is it coloration on top of the paint, or did it go into the paint? If it's on top, it'll buff off. If it took paint off, it'll need some R&R.

It should clean up fairly well. Do you have a da polisher?

I would start with a light buff and shine approach before I get out the magic eraser. My wife closes the garage door on her back bumper all the time and I just hit it with the polisher bam problem fixed

I have had a lot of luck with WD-40 on paint that does not belong. Take a could clothe and your arm is going to be very tired.

Thanks guys, I’ll try to buff it out when I can get my hands on a buffer. I guess I just figured with my luck, I was automatically screwed. Not that having to repair/replace a fender flare is any big deal, I guess I’m a bit on edge because of all the covid 19 crap going on. Hope everyone and their families stays well and safe.

I wouldn't bother with spending too much money or time on this. That should buff out. Chalk it up as a learning experience, meaning I doubt you will make that mistake again. It probably could have been a lot worse.

Rubbing compound and a damp cloth should get the paint off with a little elbow grease. Then follow up with a polish or wax to even it out. Easy peasy.

Something similar happened to my last tundra in 2018. I went through a drive through banking machine and rubbed against a yellow post. I nearly fainted when I saw the damage cause the truck was like a week old.

Anyway, I used a micro fibre towel and tartar toothpaste and it all came off one shot. I know it sounds retarded but it worked for me. I’ll post a pic when I was half way taking the yellow paint residue off.

The damage doesn’t look bad. I would definitely do this, $5 can of rubbing compound on a damp micro fiber and it should come right off. Some lady hit my mercedes bumper and left all types of scuff marks and it all came off with some rubbing compound and elbow grease.

If it doesn't work out sell it to me. Also, do you have your oem color matched bumper to sell?
