Toyo AT3 coming March 1st

Not good. I’m going to need some rubber soon.

 

When I called and talked to them yesterday, sounded like they had plenty of inventory to fill this gap. I called specifically for my order of 35s, she said there were plenty to head out to retailers.

 

Are they made in Georgia? Years ago a local shop tried to sell me some Toyo's from Indonesia. Think it was their MTs however...

Out with the KO2s and in with the ATIII...

The more "aggressive" sidewall has raised letters, the more bland side letters more flat.

 

Can't wait to see 'em mounted on your truck!

 

Personally I wish the more aggressive side.....was more aggressive lol

But, if that's the only thing I have to complain about for these tires, I'll be a happy camper hahah

 

They look a little taller, little more narrow than the KO - which I'm perfectly cool with.

Please forgive me for being lazy and not going back thru all 7 pages here...those BFGs still look like they have a lot of tread. Why are you switching out?

And they look bad azz...as in I'm having to hold back on ordering some right now.

 

BFGs were crap tires, you are right about looking new....because they basically are. This was within about 3 months, maybe about 4k worth of miles between the 10 tires.

4 tires installed - vibs
Rebalance - vibs
Rebalance - vibs
Call BFG, all 4 warrantied out
Installed - vibs
2 more replaced due to road force over 50
Still had vibs.
Enough's enough

Told them to take em back, done trying to make them work

 

And I bet DT gave you full credit on them...They did for me on a set of wheels I bought from them back in 2008 after two failed. No questions asked...pretty amazing company.

Looking forward to your reports on performance, particularly how well they hold a balance.

Yup, was talking with nitto about the G2 and not seeing a size on their website - yet their retailers are selling them...he said, we are slowing phasing out of mfg sizes in the G2. We are expecting to launch a redesigned AT within the next few months.

 

Well, DT is sending this last set back to BFG again - DT is getting their money back from them.

The DT I worked with was a pleasure to work with. Usually for warranty work, the labor is not included. I understand that to a certain extent. I also got a great install price bringing loose tires in. Basically it all ends up being a wash. This is the short version lol.

Big thing is, so far I'm happy with the ATIII.

They are quiet, but not the quietest I have ever run. Honestly think my Cooper ST Maxx have been the quietest. They are less noticeable than the KOs.

3 of the 4 took basically no weight to balance out, 1 took 3oz at the center-line. The old BFGs, new out of the gate, took as much as 5oz center and 4oz lip. Haven't driven past 60mph yet, but so far no steering wheel shimmy and no vibrations felt through the seat/floorboard.

Road manners - firm/responsive feel, not lazy or sloppy. Less road chop feedback vs the KOs (same pressures run in both). They do feel a little heavier than the KOs, few tanks will tell me if it affects fuel economy at all...but at 13/14 I could care less honestly.

No chance for dirt today, little kiddo had me need to change plans. Might be able to hit something tomorrow.

Plan for next weekend is to test out the wet traction at the launch ramp. As long as they stick and I don't go sliding back - I'll be happy. The Maxx has very poor traction in this circumstance

35psi front and rear, may go down to 32psi rear. I'll mess with pressures in the following week

How much are you guys paying for a set? I've been calling around and ranges from $1400 to $1600 including alignment...

 

I think they go for about 288ea, certs from DT another what, like 40ish maybe. Install 80 for the set. Alignment somewhere for under 100. So your pricing is about on par.

I think big o is running a sale, or was over the weekend. Buy one get one. If you get a quote on paper, DT should be able to peice match.
