2019 Tunda, done with truck

I tried to like it and embrace it, I really did....but I can't take it any more.

This thing is a turd and my 2006 Sienna was more than fine for me needs. I had no issues with that old Sienna and it did everything I wanted it to.

The Tundra sucks on gas, the fuel gauge to empty doesn't work, there is zero storage inside, the back seats don't recline, no drivers side grab handle, no bumper step, no cooling seats, no gas eco mode, stereo is blah, no Android connect, no heated steering wheel, there are zero amenities/luxuries inside compared to Ford or my brother-in-laws Dodge Ram and that's just off the top of my head.

I can't park at the store pulling in forward as it's so freaking long and wide. I pay $130+ to fill it up and have to do it every week or two, depending on how much I drive. I can't take it any more and think Covid has opened my eyes to what is important and everything that is wrong with this thing and nothing is right....besides the color or course and roll down window. Those are about the only two things going for this massive truck.

Once this pandemic is over and dealerships open back up, I'm going to see about a 2020 Sienna. It's so flat here and our roads are fine, I don't even need the 4x4 and think I made a huge mistake letting our '06 Sienna go

April Fool's...gotcha!

 

Certainly it's not the truck for everyone. But for my needs, it's perfect. I have NO problem with the lack of amenities. Never been one to require lots of TECH in my vehicles. As for storage, you are right, they should have added storage under those big ass back seats. But I installed a Better Built SLE Low Profile Toolbox and I'm good to go. As for gas mileage, mine is not that bad really. My average falls between 15-18 MPG. Even on short trips over to my father in-laws house I get between 19-20 MPG, which is a 33 mile drive, one way.

Why are people so hung up on miles to empty? There is a freaking gauge that vehicles have had long before miles to empty, look at it. MGP isn't horrible until you add heavier tires. You can add a drivers side grab handle, I did it to mine as have many others on here it takes about 10 minutes. Buy a folding bed steps that tucks under the bumper. They make a storage system to put under the back seat. You live in Canada so I'm sure a heated steering wheel is important but the mostly electric bells and whistles that you find in other brands that Toyota lacks will typically crap out eventually. Either way good luck, someone will buy your trade and enjoy it.

 

All of that comes in a Sienna....that's why I'm going back

I can't figure out the gauge these days. Everything should be digital and have lights and sensors to warn me. For $40k+, the truck should tell me when it's time to fill, not the other way around

You had me going until you said you cant pull into driving spots. Real truck owners back in because every truck has a terrible turning radius. A lifted Sienna would be awesome

Yeah, I had to do something for April Fool's to amuse myself during this time.

This is my first every truck and I love everything about it.

I love the big bulky styling, the retro 1980s controls, the lack of bells and whistles, the 8 (not 19 speakers) and the fact that it came bare bones and I can add my own stuff (when my wife allows) to it as I see fit.

FWIW, I did spoil the April fool's right in my post if you look hard enough at my use of font editing/formatting.

That is a badass Sienna for sure. If I had known it could have been modded out like that, I would have held on to my 2WD '06.

All jokes aside, we had a Sienna before our Tundra and we loved it. In this pic we were all at Legoland and I snuck back to the van and placed Pikachu in the drivers seat. I told the kids he was trying to steal our car, they loved it. I would still have it if it wasn't for drunk illegals smashing into it for the 3rd and final time.

 

@JimboSlice413 our Sienna served us well for many years. It towed our trailer and hauled kids to an from many many soccer games and around Canada without issue. It was getting too much to tow our trailer and gear and I didn't feel safe driving through the rolling hills of Ontario where we camp.

We spent the extra money to get a Sienna and are glad we did. After taking out a few domestics, it was a no brainier.

 

If Toyota made a TRD PRO Sienna i would have considered it over the Tundra. Tundra looks cooler and i'm probably happier to be driving it, but it is lacking in some departments and not everyone NEEDS what the Tundra offers. If this is an April Fools post then ha-ha, otherwise good luck with whatever you decide.

But I did enjoy my time with our Sienna.

I really don't understand how people can complian about the Tundra after their purchase. You have no room to complain if you didn't do your homework as far as gas mileage and other features.
