I replaced mine a few months ago. Bought from Amazon but I don't have the link. I seem to remember it was cheaper than from dealer. Came out in pieces but new one slipped in with some lube....

Pain to get the new one on. I used lithium grease when I replaced mine.

This happened to mine a long time ago. I blame it on my antenna whacking every overhead pipe and beam in the parking garage at work  it is of course worse since I leveled the truck
If I replace mine I'll get a shorty antenna or else the same thing will keep happening. But I kinda like the low clearance warning I get now, and the radio still comes in clear, so...it's a low priority item at best for me.

I was driving home from work and I saw something spiral up the antenna and then it was gone. I thought one of the coworkers was messing with me so I didnt bother. I saw it when I washed the truck.

It's easy to replaced. use a exacto knife to cut the old rubber off and let it fall in the fender liner. Add liquid soap to put the new one on. I replaced mine twice on my 08 DC.

I joined to see what is possible
yeah not too difficult, like benwales said, slice it as much as possible on one side and push it down, it will snap open and fall out. soap and water well and slide it in there and push down hard enough that it gets sitted, you can use butt end of screw driver to help out a bit. I noticed that I still got radio reception without any antenna on so I added a stubby antenna.
