I just installed the AFE power high flow air filter and the TRD flow accelerator per the suggestion on other threads over a full cold air intake on my 15' Tundy.

My question is, should I remove that cloth mesh filter thing attached to the top of the air filter housing?

Mine is an 07 and I removed it and threw it in the trash over a year ago. Don't notice anything with it missing.

    Search charcoal filter.

It's an emissions thing for trapping HC after engine shut off.
