Man, that's the truth. I drive Bessie (E-250 work van) 90% of the time. 2 windows and two mirrors. That's it. I've gotten so used to backing up and backing a trailer only using my side mirrors I can't look out the back window of a truck. And, my gf's SHO has a back up cam. Never use it or the back windows. Habits man.

If they're shipping from China, good luck ever seeing them. US Postal seems to still be working.

I watched a video because I had never done it, and then I cleaned my MAF.

It didn't look dirty, but the truck seems peppier now that it's MAF is clean & shiny.

Yesterday and today I took advantage of the pause in rain to leave my windows open so my wet carpeting can dry out.

Just got this in the mail
    20200319_142433.jpg
Bluetooth adapter for my Alpine 9886 (circa 2008)

It got me thinking this is as good a time as any to do something about the paint on my truck. Guess I'll start checking out products for that.

Makes a huge difference. I replaced my rear view mirror with a monitor and have the rear camera always on.
Also mounted a camera on the driver and passenger side of the roof rack. I don't need them often, but it's handy when checking tight spots.

Finally got some Rigid SAE fogs installed. I had the amber spots previously and really wanted some SAE fogs.

Also ordered one of those fancy Element Extinguishers. Kind of pricey, but I like the design and size. Shown next to a 5lb below.

Muffler accessories came in. Once I get through a couple Hand Sanitizer Model Gigs, I’ll get the parts on. We are in high demand right now.

My 1/4" backer rod I ordered finally showed up. Direct from Wuhan China!

All installed. It is a much much lighter color than the 1/2". Since it's so bright you can really see where it is not evenly pushed into the crack. (I pushed some a little too far in. Oops.)

Now I just need to figure out what to do with the other 93 feet of backer rod.

Does anyone have long term experience with this yet? I’ve had open cell pipe insulation(almost identical to backer rod) in the back of my truck in the summer, and in one afternoon it fried it some places. I’ve also seen it only last a summer on a exposed pipe before it powdered into nothing. Just curious if this is gonna make a mess after a few seasons of being in direct light

I cannot attest for the longevity as the 1/2" I had installed was only there for a month I think?

However, I have ran the defrost on high heat for an hour on the ride home several times. I temped my heat with an infrared thermo gun once or twice. It was always putting out about 150°F to 160°F directly from vent.

No issues there. Although you are asking about sunlight primarily. Again, cannot attest to that.

Guess what I did on my ride in to work tonight!

Go ahead, and try. I bet you will never guess what I did.

I spilled a solo cup half full of milk
    everywhere.
    20200319_182929.jpg

Forgive my dirty floor boards, but between these 12s (including commute) it's hard to find time to vacuum everything out (especially in the rain.)

I tried to soak everything up with rags I had on hand. Hosed it down with Odo-ban I keep in my truck. Hopefully it doesn't reek when I get in after shift.

I have bad luck with this backer rod thing I guess LMAO

To answer any milk related questions... with my recent stress fractures I am on a diet of vitamin D pills, and milk. Lol

Im interested in upgrading my fogs to something similar. Where did you get the mounting cover that fits in the fog spot?

Used my tailgate as a bench to put my new portable router table together.

The top is really nicely made, its sturdy and has a nice fence. The plastic base is not impressive at all, maybe once my garage is how I want it I'll build a wooden base for this.

Ah, a fellow wood worker! Router table is next on my list. I’ve finally gotten to a point with my scroll saw and lathe where I’m ready for the next challenge.

When my wife and I bought our first house, we didn’t have any furniture outside of a couch and a mattress so I decided to learn how to build. Couple weeks later we found out we were pregnant with our first kiddo, so I built his crib and dresser and moved on from there.

Bandsaw, planer, jointer, lathe and a bunch of other stuff later - I found my true hobby.

    Sorry, back to trucks...

I'm basically in the "just got house with mo furniture" phase. Planning to make a very basic desk, then a coffee table and end tables, then a dining table.

I'm such a rookie with building wood stuff. I've done several subwoofer boxes and fish tank stands but that's it, and with just a hyoid saw and a jig saw. Now I have a table saw and a router table (and plunge router) so I'm feeling dangerous
