The other thing that is sometimes easy forget, when reading forums, is that not everybody has the same needs or priorities or reasons for owning a truck. The steep approach angle, low-profile thing is for people who regularly take their truck rock crawling and four-wheeling as a "sport." Same with lift kits, probably. Nothing wrong with that, but that's only one reason to own a truck.

Others, like me, absolutely need pickups for our daily drivers because we tow things, carry things, live in snowy climates, or regularly drive mountain and ranch roads. But because these (actually, all) trucks are so ridiculously expensive nowadays, I can't afford to think of mine as a toy OR to see it get beat up prematurely through normal use. I think of bumpers as sacrificial components that are designed to take abuse and protect the investment of the actual vehicle. The way bumpers USED to function. That's why I stress out about thee vulnerable $800 sensors, the lack of any real bumpers at all, and why I started this thread. For my purpose, a massive bumper is ideal. Biggest threats to me are hard, icy snowbanks and a$$holes in the grocery store parking lot. If I happen to drag the bumper on the ground once in a while, it's ok because that's what it's meant for. (Plus, the hitch is probably the critical clearance element anyway.)

I've only had BSM for less than a week now and already love it. It's going to suck losing it when I change out the bumper. Hopefully someone comes up with a way to keep them.

I don't need a bumper, I'll be having one fabbed. And I don't care about the parking sensors and the cross traffic. I would just like to keep the BSM.

I wonder if you could take any aftermarket bumper- cut out the spots for the BSM and strap it in place (weld in clips?), and cover the outside with plastic. Seems like it would work as long as the BSM sensors were in roughly the same location as stock. Someone should try it first

Help ! I may be missing something but here is my small issue with my 2020 Limited. I have the BSM and live in the city. It's pretty handy. Then today I got back my trailer I loaned out to my friend. I went to back it up my long driveway and the beeping kept going continuously as long as I was in reverse. Is there a simple way for it to be disabled? The trailer wiring harness was not hooked up as I also realized my trailer harness won't reach the bumper, so I've ordered a harness extension.
