When my dad taught me how to do oil changes that reading is about where he always put it. I just followed suit, because that's what he showed me.

Since you are concerned, I will remedy that. What's a decent reading about in the middle? Lol

On my 2006 (which I owned from new and sold to my daughter after 12 years and 225,000 miles), my needle was always right about in the middle of the range.

use the heal tool when the colors are pretty even and there isn't a lot of contrast or a hard edge. use the clone tool when there's a contrast difference and/or a hard edge.
