    The agency tried to harvest the pines 15 years ago because we knew they were diseased. A local group formed to block the cut. It was taken to court and they won, as our commissioner at the time had no spine. This impacted forestry practices across the state and my park is now persona non grata, none of our foresters will touch it.

    Just today I spent half an hour counseling a "valued employee ", that's what they taught me in charm school to say instead of POS. Because he thinks because our schedule is for six ten hour days a week, he should get paid for ten hours even if he shows up, gets sent home because of weather delays immediately and gets 2 hours reporting pay, he should be paid for 10.
