Tundra pulling

Well I received the call a parent don’t want. My daughter called last night saying she was in a wreck. She has a 2000 4runner “little tank”. She’s fine I'm happy to say. But as I pulled up to the scene the towing company was stuck in the field. He didn’t see me pull up and asked me if I drive a 4x4 by chance? I said yes! He asked would you mind pulling me out if you can and I quickly said heck yea. I pulled up, locked in 4lo and slowly tightened the large tow chain he had wrapped around my hitch “wanted a strap but oh well”, as my 35’s turned over very little all 4 grabbed and I felt the truck squat from trying then I look in the mirror as he started moving and the Tundra had him out of the field. I was impressed by the Tundra as that was a large flat bed wrecker buried in mud.

Glad your daughter is OK, RIP 4runner. Too bad you didn’t get any video. Seems all my best events are undocumented.

 

I wish I had recorded it as well. But under the circumstances I just wanted to get the job done and get back home.

 

Glad your daughter OK. Tundra's weight helps with pulling people out. On the TV show Highway thru Hell, They used their Tundra to pull some of their wreckers out of the snow, wished I recorded that episode.

 

After all if you can pull the space shuttle why not a wrecker.

 

I was just surprised how well and how quick it locked all 4 wheels and hooked up. I’m running ridge grapplers. It was a big flat bed wrecker with the 4Runner loaded on it.

 

I agree. I want to pick up some straps.
