I am closer to pulling the trigger on my first Tundra. I see a few dealers that have the exact truck I want with the exception of the running boards. I really like the predator steps versus say the brushed stainless steel stepboards. Are dealers typically willing to swap out accessories like this from current stock on their lots?

If my thinking is correct, predator steps are less expensive than the brushed stainless. Since there is a labor cost to the dealer to swap out, should I be happy with the swap and no added expense?

From my experience they are usually not. As the cars usually have the parts listed on the build sheet, for new that is.

On used that may be an entirely different story.
Again just my experience, every dealership is different

Id ask for sure. Depends on how bad they want to sell a truck. I got the dealer to swap out rims on a new YJ Jeep many years ago. It would be helpful if they have what you want already on a truck on their lot. I would not expect them to order and then swap parts for you.

Depends on dealer. Dealer I purchased from in Raleigh, NC definitely does.

If it's a dealer add on item I could see it but if it's something on the window sticker they won't since then they would have a truck with incorrect window sticker information that they'd have to sell to someone.

I wanted to delete steps for credit. I don't like them. They just get in the way when getting out of truck. Dealer balked for a while because they had no other use for them. Most trucks on lot already had them. They finally agreed to a $400 credit to get the sale. Tell them what you want and that is the only way you will buy the truck.
