I was installing my stereo and noticed this while putting in the microphone (somehow didnt notice while purchasing the truck haha) but it seems like a remote start to me? Looking for help from others before I start digging further into the dash. Anybody know the brand? I'd like to use it but I only have the original key fob so I dont know if that's how it is used or if the remote to start was lost. Any help is appreciated!20200206_205153.jpg 20200206_205135.jpg

Never seen one mounted there but the lights and single button make me think it’s an aftermarket alarm of some kind. If it has remote start they may have mounted there to get extra range with the signal?
Try pressing the lock button 3x on your key fob and see what happens.

climb up under the dash on the driver side. you'll probably see a box up there ziptied up. if there is one there you likely have an aftermarket alarm and possibly remote start

if you do you can find the part number/model number on it and get some fobs and program it and enjoy remote start.

totally found out my fathers tacoma has remote start after owning it for 4 years when i replaced the battery and the alarm went off. lol

Are you married? That's a GPS tracker :spy:

Jk….I'm not 100% but i would imagine that's an aftermarket alarm

It's an antenna for an alarm/remote start.

You can probably crawl under the dash and find the brain box for it unless it's been removed.

It's an antenna for an aftermarket keyless entry and/or alarm and/or remote start. You don't necessarily have all those functions. Almost any manufacturer of these products makes different "tiers" of the same product.

My Gen-3 4Runner had an antenna similar to that, in that location. I only had keyless entry and alarm. The button is likely for pairing the remote, adjusting settings, and activating/deactivating functions.

Did an aftermarket FOB come with the truck?
