Finally Pulled the Trigger!

So after casually searching for a pickup for well over a year, I finally bought one. I really dig Tacomas and Gladiators, but I have a 28' bumper pull camper, so I needed at least a half ton. I wanted an F-150 FX4, or a Tundra, but also looked at Cummins, EcoDiesels, Ford 7.3, etc. After few months I had my minimum criteria set. '07-'18 CrewMax, 4x4, tow package, can't be red or black, unless the deal is so unbelievable, it'll make me colorblind.

Yesterday, I went to test drive a 1-owner, 67K mile, 2012 CrewMax, Limited, with Platinum Package. It had everything I wanted and more, I just wish it was white or silver. Mint condition, with an immaculate Carfax. The previous owner took it in to Toyota dealer for service, every 5000 miles. It even had front and rear differential flush at 50K miles. It even has clear bra on it.

So I bought it. The selling dealer had it there for less than 2 weeks. They wanted $24,900 for it and would not come down a dime. The only fee they waved was $900 prep fee. I call it bullshit fee and told them right off the bat, that's what I thought of it.

That's a sweet ride my friend. I wanted a Limited, but it just wasn't in my budget. I settled for a 2012 Tundra grade w/TRD Off road and SR5 package. It has 125K and cost $16K. Dealer fought me tooth and nail just to come down $400. I guess that the demand and resale values are too high. They know that they don't have to budge too much. Best of luck with yours. I am enjoying mine so far.

I originally started looking at 2014+ CrewMax 4x4 SR5, TRD, at around $30K-$35K. Then I realized that I really like 2nd Gen too. So I widened my search, 2007-2019. So this came out to less than my original budget and I feel like I got a lot for it.

 

Now with shell removed

 

I love all the gens, but my favorite two trucks on this site are 2nd gens.

At that price, it's like they paid you to buy it.

So glad that I paid full price for mine.

My truck's just a date rig [for me and the wife]: if I had it to do over again, I'd probably buy a 2nd gen in a similar condition as yours.

I was looking for a Magnetic Gray Metallic when I found my Silver Sky Metallic. I paid a lot more for mine back in 2018. Enjoy it!

 

Forgot to ask you to let us know how it pulls your trailer.

 

Haven't done it yet. Trailer is in storage in NorCal, since I didn't have a tow vehicle to bring it back. I'll let you know once I hook up. I'll probably just go with weight distribution hitch and go for it. If that won't be enough, I'll add leveling kit.
