I have a 2016 tundra. Been a great truck since I gave up on a diesel this go around. Been building it slowly. I have had an issue with a company I ordered from and curious what is best to deal with it. I will keep company name out of it till delt with.

I ordered a bumper in OCT with lead time of 3months with paying half down. Bumper Due Jan 15th. Called Jan 1 to check in and confirm my shipping address and how build was. Company said it’s being welded. Called back jan15 because I haven’t heard from them. They said it would be delayed till end of month. Called last week of January and a different guy answered phone and said they haven’t welded it yet but it’s coming. He said they were waiting for more than one order to do as group. I called back couple days later and owner said it is being rushed and maybe done 2nd week of February. It will be 3 weeks behind. After being lied to that it was welded a month ago and they keep pushing back, I have decided I just want another winch bumper. Am I being fare by wanting my deposit back and wanting to move on to another company? I was planning on leaving for Baja last week but have delayed because I would like a winch and bumper when I go.
I’m afraid to fight charge and then they want to charge for the rest of bumper. I feel they didn’t hold their end of bargain. What would be the best action to take, because I have lost trust when the said it would be done

    thanks so much

@Marshwalker - 1st, it sucks that you are putting up with a company that did not complete their obligation. I feel for you on that end. 2nd, it sounds like you have some good documentation and if you can keep level headed, cool, calm and collected - continue to document, then the owner might refund your money. Good luck

You kind of have to go with your gut. If you are really worried that they might try to shaft you, then you could try going to your card company, or whatever resource you used to order the bumper. With it being so long ago your options might be limited on that front.

    Edit: Yes, what @NewImprovedRon said.

I’m trying to be fair and reasonable, but if I hadn’t called there would of been no communication. Also that when I asked last week if completed they got irritated, I should be the one irritated not them. I have been super nice on phone. Their attitude has what prompt me to abandon it and give my money elsewhere

From what you say, you are completely justified, and a lot nicer than most people would be in your shoes.

Call the and ask to cancel your order for a full refund if they refuse tell them you plan on disputing the charge see if they will bend. If all else fails call your card provider and get them to dispute charge.

If you have documentation that it was due January 15th, then you're in the clear. Hopefully they're reasonable and don't fight because they want to make a few bucks, but lose customers.

I paid for a bumper that a company said they had available on their website, when they were out of stock. They said they would issue a refund but a month later the charge was there. I called the credit card company, who disputed the charge, and they issued a refund within a couple of days. You already have a bad feeling about this company and it sounds like they are having real issues with production and best to bail out while someone there to answer the phone IMO.

Yeah if they fight you on the refund, let them know you'll dispute the charge on your credit card and contact better business bureau. And if still nothing, let them know you're on forums that will have plenty of attention to this negative encounter with said manufacturer :bananadance:

IM trying to leave for Baja Tuesday and I doubt they will have it done by then.. going to use that as leverage on another reason why they are missing out in sale. I planned this trip partially based on having all the gear. I had new suspension, camper, and hopefully bumper for trip. Had to have suspension out on for camper weight and get alignment, now I have to get a second alignment when bumper comes if ever. Place in town has ARB summit in stock might pick up this weekend if I can get my Money back.

My take: delays happen and I'm fine with that AS LONG AS THERE IS COMMUNICATION AND THEY KEEP ME INFORMED. When they lie (saying it's being welded when your steel probably isnt even cut/ready) acting irritated when you want an update at the time that it was already supposed to be due, etc, then fuck them and dispute the charge and get your money back. Also, what is the company's name
