    Why 20 instead of 30?

Snob... Yeah I am addicted to a good hand ground bean when pressed through the frenchiest of coffee sweating devices too. I'll drink anything strong mostly, but french press and espresso are very enjoyable.

That was when that french actor got harassed trying to get a sub sandwich right? Guy must have been hurting for a $5 footlong. At least I think that was Chicago.

I think I need front mudflaps. I know it sounds weird, but I'm tired of mud getting flung under my truck from the front tires and all over my slider. I know mudflaps won't eliminate it, but I think it will help. I'll have to doll them up with some fox shock emblems or something.

No reason other than I had half a jug from the previous owner and stuck with it. From how long he owned it I'd say it's been running it for about 60k.

    Quite literally...
That wouldn't make it 3 days on Craigslist here in Atlanta...hell, I would buy it today if it was within a 100 miles of me.

Today is tune in day on the entire brake system front and back. Think I’ll start warming up with a full dismantle of the old calipers to get the investigative juices flowing.

    1) Test drive.

    2) Install final self bleeder.

    3) Bleed system and add El Fluido Supremo.

    4) Test drive.

    5) Adjust LSBP Valve?

I'm surprised it's.made.it.this long. There was a 4runner for $4500 same drive train, similar miles and it was gone with 24 hours.

    Yea, kinda makes me wonder...:monocle:

Back in 2008 we decided having only one vehicle the 3 of us could ride in was no good (My daughter was 3 and needed a car seat), so I bought a 2002 Tundra AC and had to sell my 1998 SR5 Tacoma AC with the 2.7 and 5sp with 185K miles. I was the original owner and it was well maintained and accident free. I put it on CL for what I thought was a decent price $5800. I had 3 people show up at my house in less than an hour...the first one in less than 45 mins. He test drove it, looked it over for 2 mins and handed me $5800. I obviously underpriced it. He told me he was shipping it to SA.

When my 99 AC taco.was totalled insurance gave me $9k and it had 199k miles, v6 TRD PreRunner. I turned around and bought an 03 DC trd PreRunner taco for $9800 with 140k miles. Traded it for the Tundra 5 years later with 180k miles and only got $5500 in the trade. The dealer turned around and sold it for $9k a week later

Since I like roadtrips, I would offer to drive it to you for the price of gas and a return trip plane ticket...but I'm thinking it's not road worthy at the moment... ;-) (No affiliation)

    Alrighty. Is this doable?

One man in a driveway. Two new rear leaf pack springs/shackles. One jack. Leaf pack swap one side at a time.

Wheels on ground entire time. Jack used to prop each side up by frame one at a time and fit leafs one at a time securing before doing other leaf pack.

    Doable?

Wasn't someone asking if it even got cold in TX? At least I get to use the 4wd finally. Everybody with their TITS pics was making me jelly.

I put it in my 1st Gen. And my Avalon, 2 Corollas and a Celica. But only during the winter. Otherwise we do 5w30.

I've been running 0w30 in many different Toyota engines every winter since 1992.

Then again, it's cold in Alberta at times.

Probably doable but it's going to be hard with the wheels still on. You'll need some very tall jack stands or blocking to raise the stands high enough to hold the frame.

Reason I suggest doing this with wheels on is to keep the alignment/measurements of the axle/wheel locked/blocked with chocks to keep it all squared up. I guess I could put a jack under axle on one side and remove the wheel and do the leaf packs one at a time.

I’ll build some jack legs posts for the frame.

It almost seems like the best angle of attack is jacking and posting the rear end on the tow frame. This keeps that business out of the way when installing leafs from the side.

I jacked mine up by the rear pumpkin until the wheels were off the ground. Supported the frame, removed the wheels, then lowered the jack until the axle was fully dropped.
A grinder with cut off wheel makes quick work of the u bolts since your replacing them anyway.
The axle won't move too much and center pin and u bolts will pull everything back into alignment.

Drove into work with pretty gnarly snow yesterday and with all the wind there was some drifting and ice this morning. I really like the way the BFGs work in the snow. They aren't great on wet roads, but they make winter a lot nicer.

Not having abs is awesome too.

    More snow expected.

Do it with the wheels off. Tighten the bolts after both sides are done. A full leaf pack is easier then a an AAL. One could do it, but a second set of hands is best. Good luck!

Why are you waiting for it to be sold? AH - 2.5 - 3.0 hours away. Gotcha. Well you've called him so he knows there's another buyer interested before he takes the $3,000 offered on Thursday - right?
