Will be attempting something similar. But for right side. However mine will not turn on with turn signal on my screen. I will have a switch to turn it on when I need it for parking mostly.

I would never look at screen when merging lanes. Unless I place screen near right side.

Anyone has any idea what power source I can tap into near right side mirror.
Was thinking of tapping into same power source my front camera uses from the radio.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
I have no trouble on right (or left) side backing into spots, its pulling forward and trying to get close to a curb on right that's a little tougher for me. Would be interesting if I could pan camera back to front from mirror vantage point....

Could run the wire from 12v under the dash for power. I don’t think any of the wires going to the mirror would work like blinker or heat.

Usually, no problem parking with help of rear, front cameras and my hem tow mirrors. However this is something I just want to have. Perhaps running camera forward is also a good thing. I will consider it.

yes it does seem that running to 12v under dash is the only option.
