Just missed an awesome deal on 17's

On Wednesday I saw a local Craigslist ad for a full set of Rock Warrior wheels on tires for $60 and I caught it just 2.5 hours after it was posted. He said the tires were spent, but they were only 285's so no loss there.

I emailed the guy immediately (email was the only contact option he gave) to ask if they were available and to try meeting up to see/buy them. He said they were still available, but he would be busy until Saturday. I told him I wouldn't haggle, I'd bring cash and I'd work around his schedule to meet up and buy them ASAP. He told me again that he wasn't available until Saturday.

I emailed him Friday night (last night) to set up time to meet and he tells me that he sold them to a guy that came to his workplace to pick them up. $#@&$!!!

He didn't even mention that option to me! I would have met him at work or anywhere he wanted for that deal. I would have paid twice his asking price if he would have given me the heads up.

So disappointed right now considering the only other RW wheel on CL within 200 miles right now is a single for $275.

 

Bummer! I thought I got a good deal on mine when I found my RW wheels at a wrecking yard. $700 out the door with like new tires.
$60 is a steal.

 

Yup, happens all fhe time with Kijiji.

Now I make sure to run out and get it if I want it and pressure them to make the deal as soon as possible

 

I tried getting him to meet earlier, but he wasn't very responsive. I basically told him to give me a time and location and I'll be there with cash. He just said he wasn't available until Saturday.

Because of all of the scammers and low-ballers around here I was working hard to show that I was a legit, very interested and trying to make an honest purchase, but he just left me in the dark.

I guess that I should have told him to give me a chance to make a better offer if anyone else got there first.

 

I want to replace my 35x12.50-20's with 35x12.50-17's. I'd have to run spacers on the RW wheels, but @ $60 I could have lived with it for a while.

Guess I'll keep looking and hope for lightning to strike twice.
