The Tundra from Down Unda

So this is a bit of a long story... I bought my original 2001 Tundra from my father back in 2009, and built it up over the next several years.

OME Suspension
ARB Sahara Bumper
ARB Intensity Lights
Warn 9.5XP
ARB Air Lockers Front and Rear
Nitro 4.88 gears
SCS Stealh 6 Wheels
35x12.5R17 MTR's




Then in Dec 2018 this happened...




The truck was totalled. I didn't have comprehensive insurance, and homeowners didn't cover it. Shit out of luck.

With some help from friends and family I ended up with this 2001 Tundra with a bad transmission.


We ended up pulling all the good parts from the old Tundra, and turned it into this!


At this point I upgraded the suspension to ADS coilovers and shocks. UCA's are Total Chaos. Baja Design XL80 lights on the old bumper, with a Comeup 9.5 Seal Gen 2 Winch. At this point it's a pretty capable and nice truck! Not to leave things be...

I had Box Rocket Designs do a rendering for me, and while some things are changing from this version, it will be more or less like this when I am finished.


That is my goal, and this is where I am cusrrently at.



The addition of the Stealth F5's, and 37" Yokohama make me smile. Until something breaks...

you mind explaining the OME setup? Just curious as I am about to toss on mine and wondering what shocks/springs you used.

Is Mule where you work? I saw you had Mule cut out of your skid plates.

 

Also, it really shouldn't be that expensive to move up to comprehensive coverage. If you haven't already, I would consider it. And you'd want to declare that bed to your insurance so they cover it.

 

I was paying $79 a month for full coverage, but it went up to $108 a month. Bullshit lol

I love the Yokohama's. They took very little weight when balanced, and are awesome in the snow. The X-At's are pretty rad as well. I wouldn't hesitate to run them at all.

On the front I ran 1st gen Taco struts with various different coils. I finally settled on the 2886 coils after I had the skid plate built. If you are not running a bumper/winch/skid plate I would go 2885 coils. The rear was a mutt leaf pack with 2nd gen Taco shocks.

 

It's been a while since I have posted, and a lot has changed! I am now running a MITS Alloy tray and canopy on the back, and could not be any happier! So much storage with the tray, and canopy. It's not nearly finished as I still need to build out the electrical in the canopy.
